Spyder Pilot 08 Feedneck Change
 

Hey, I just got the Smart Parts Impulse / Shocker / Ion Q-Lock Low Rise Feed Neck for my Spyder Pilot 08 and I cannot figure out how to take off the stock feedneck. I just tried using pliers and im afraid that i will mess up the stock feedneck and then the new feedneck wont fit on there. I also used a hair dryer before attempting with the pliers, but i only used it for about 5 seconds before each attempt. Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong and how to get it off?

get a strap wrench from sears.

will that get small enough to fit around the 08 feedneck? Ive looked at videos with strap wrenches and all the feed necks have bulges on the top for the strap wrench to strap on to. The 08 stock is like a 1 inch cylinder.

the strap wrench works like a zip tie, it will get as small as you need it to

i had the EXACT same problem with my pilot 08..its like cement glued on but all i did was got some pliers and twisted as hard as i could..u dont have to worry about the threading on there its pretty strong
