Scuba HPA
I found a tank on craigslist.com for $75 and the fill adapter on ebay for $35. Has anyone got a setup like this? How many fills can you do? I've heard maybe 4 good fills and two ok fills....

Re: Scuba HPA
It depends on how big the scuba tank is, I have one that fills about 2000 psi and I can get about between 3-5 good fills. With my Mini me and my dad would fill up our smaller tanks and the scuba and it would last us all day.

Re: Scuba HPA
cool. This tank is a 3k tank. 80cu ft.
:: goes to search for online fill calculator :: :: finds fill calc:: 80 cu ft = 960 cu in @3000 psi = 12960 shots...:) |

Re: Scuba HPA
I have my local shop set so that if they fill bellow 4000 I only pay 3/4 of what they normally charge. if they can't get me obove 3000 it 's free.with my 4500psi 68cui Tank.

Re: Scuba HPA
Remember too, the max PSI per fill goes down as you start filling your PB tank, so your first fill might be in the neighbourhood of 2900-3k psi, but your next will be around 27-2800 psi and so forth.

Re: Scuba HPA
true, but my local shop has mutipual tanks and there own compressor that goes to 4500 why should I pay full price for less than a 3/4 fill. If the shop has the gear to mantain allmost full fills. I work hard for my money, and I have a tuff time paying for things I don't get.

Re: Scuba HPA
I have been doing some reading and they say one of the best ways to do it yourself and maintain decent pressures for each fill is to set up a 2-3 tank cascade system...
They figure filling a 3k tank will result in a rough Scuba tank pressure drop of 200psi. So you hook up to tank #1 and the two bottles equalize at ~2800psi. You then hook up to the second tank and they equalize at ~2980. The next fill the first bottle equalizes at ~2600psi, then the second would bring you to ~2950 or so...They say this method with three tanks would get you in the neighborhood of 20-25 fills...Following is the link to where I found my info... http://www.scubatoys.com/store/Paint.../whichtank.asp |
