View Full Version : First national profesional tourney i participate in! lol

Well, satruday we played the first event of the season. We get th chance to advance to the professional rank, becuase we have a great past amateur year.
(the ranks are rookie, amateur, professional....that´s national here in my country Guatemala, don´t think its in the USA ....lol...)

So it was ok, big event, great teams, etc. My team did pretty good...we managed to get to the finals (we beat a lot of good teams and they were very angry, cause we were the "noobs of the professional rank") but the refs were bad....lame....they ref with preferences, and I don't know why they hate us....

but we gat to the finals, and we played agaisnt the 3 times national profesional champions, and they beat us up:( ....lol, so we had to played for the 3rd place.
It was the team that wins 3 of 5 games, get the 3rd place. We played agaisnt a team named Domination (really strong team, they are our role models)....The first 2 games they beat us, but the 3rd we won it, but it was gettin late (like 4 in the afternoon) and the refs gave the 3rd place to Domination because it was gettin dark, so they can play the finals, for the championship (the finals were played very late, almost no sunlight)...so we still would try to get the 3rd place but they take it away our chance...

But still a 4th place is good, our local sponsors were very happy (they attended the event), and some of the paint sponsors were so happy that our firts appeareance as a profesional team in Guatemala we placed 4th, they increase the amount of sponsorhip paint, so that is another good news, we gat more paint for practice and tourneys!:) ...lol

Oh we just where 6, and one friend's father played with us to complement the team...lol......it was 7 man team...

Very nice! Glad to see you doing so well! The refs might not like you simply because they don't like the idea of an underdog team usurping the veterans. :shrug:

Either way, 4th in a PROFESSIONAL division for your FIRST event is very good! Mad props! :waytogo:

No offense, you would be kicked out of any tourny that I held. No BBD and no mask, anywhere, on or off the feild if you do not have a mask on you MUST have a BBD on, tank on, hopper on, no BBD.. not cool

yeah, true, true....I think my teamates didn't follow the rules....And I think that the refs were just people that get pay up, for just ref....but they dont really play paintball. I think they are just people that get a quick talk about paintball, but they dont have any experience, and I think its lame........but you made a very good point.....

:yeahthat: QFT... Matt give the boy a break! It's his first national level tournament, the next one he goes to you can yell at him for. :rolleyes: I don't think they were dumb enough to use loaded paintball markers in such a manner...

well talk to your teamates about it, the team pic is no different, just because you are off the feild does not mean that the rules dont apply.

true, true..rules are rules.....NO matter were Im going, if I have a paintball marker loaded, etc...I must have my barrel condom, also in the field always have mask on (I´m gonna give my teamates the post of "mask on!", just gat to find it).....ohh I love this sport, always have to learn something...lol

Even if it was his first big game... our field (NVP) would kick you out for doing what they did there. It is entirely unsafe. I don't care if your in open play or in a Professional Tourniment, saftey first. (Being a reff, things like this piss me off... I've seen tragic things... and I've had to dive infront of kids countless times to keep then from being shot in the face because of lifting their masks.) :( :dodgy:
