View Full Version : All you with remotes.....

.....what do you carry your tank in? I have a 4+1 but putting a 68/4500 in it aint gonna hold up too well while running around. I'd prolly get 5 steps and the weight of the tank and full hoppers would have it at my ankles lol :o I've seen some vests but wtf, they're like from $50 in excess of $100. Pockets are too small for that tank. This remote idea aint lookin too good. Any input? -

I use a Broadsword Tactical Vest from Special Ops, it can cary any size tank on my bank plus 6 pods and with all the attach ajustment you can have on your body you don't feel the weight it's worth the prize if you ask me.

Last woodsball game I played I actually tried to carry my 114/3000 in a 4+1! Now, that was too much...but my 68/3000 or a 20oz CO2 and 4 full pods and it is very managable...never had it come loose/down/off while playing...

Two of my friends use 4+1's with their remotes, and have no problems, at least that I know of. I think you just can't wear it on your hips, it has to be up higher? Then again, I'm uber thin...

I use the NXE Rec Pac 4+1 and works great with my 68/45. It has the big velcro band like its big brother pack and stays put when you are running around.

I use a cheap $20 extreme rage 4+1 pack with 20oz and a 68/3000. Hvaent had any problems.

My brother uses a redz 2+1 pack it straps on ur waist and on ur calf. It stays in place very well especially when ur running. I have never heard him complain.

I use a Special Ops Dagger Vest.

It can hold up to 7 pods ( I only use 4), and my 20 oz co2 tank sits horizontal on my back just below the shoulders. With all my gear, it weighs about 25 lbs. but I don't feel it when I play.

By the way, I had my first perfect night last week. We had nine people out, we played three games, I got 8 eliminations, and didn't get hit once. I shot one guy in the nipple and watched him reel back from the pain. He showed me the mark after that game. Ouch!

03-15-2007, 06:18 PM
up until now i played with a 6+1 and never had a problem running, i did have to cut the pouch that the tank sits in though because my 88/4500 wouldnt fit in there

I use an old camelbak pack that I didn't use anymore. Since I accumulated a few camelbak packs I just thought its a waste to let it sit around doing nothing. Works for me.

03-15-2007, 07:03 PM
i use a spyder 4+1 pack with a 20 oz c02 its pretty easy to run in, also maybe you could somehow put suspenders on your pack to make it easier.

03-15-2007, 07:21 PM
That's the thing, I don't have a pack like Hacker posted. I have a PMI pack that has the pods on the sides. Don't think I could get used to them in the back. I like the convenience of the pods being right there instead of blindly searching my back. It has a thin belt unlike the one Hacker posted as well. The thick waist portion of that pack would be perfect. I thought of suspenders but don't sew lol. What the hell is a camelbak pack? Lesee pics MR2 Woodsballer. I don't think I'm willing to spend big bucks on one of those fancy vests. For that much I could get some good ups for one of my markers **DRAGON squeeks** :D

Thx for the replies. Anyone know of an inexpensive resolve that would leave the pods either to the sides or front? -

ok here you go Dragon: (click on pics to make them bigger) Ohh one other thing you can fit a pod on each side of the tank. I just choose not to.

no prob thats what im here for. If you have any more questions about my set up ask away.

do that thing flop around at all when you run, mr2 woodsballer?

MR2 Woodsballer
03-16-2007, 12:10 PM
Actully it moves very little. Im very impressed by it considering that I am a very aggressive player. I move alot, crouch quite a bit, and sometimes even lay down. The only thing I have changed on it is a thicker web belt like the military uses. The one it comes with works fine, but it is only a couple millimeters thick so it kinda crinkles up. Still useable but just not for me.

03-16-2007, 12:19 PM
I had a problem with my 6+1 pack falling so I bought a cheap set of suspenders at Wal-Mart and wear them under my shirt. It is 10 times better and all the weight is not around your waist anymore.

03-16-2007, 04:56 PM
I took my 4+1 and added straps I got from the Army Surplus store. Works like a Load bearing harness from the services.

03-18-2007, 11:13 AM
If you dont want pods on the pack with your air tank I bought a blemished ronin gear tank pack, similar to the redz one, from ebay and it cost me less than $10 if you want to go that route go to the paintball section on ebay sporting goods and type "blem" in the search bar I beleive that i&i sports has them on closeout the only thing wrong with them is they have almost unnoticable gray spots on the pack.

Hey DRAGON so what did you decide to go with?

03-23-2007, 04:43 PM
This is what I use. It's padded front and back with neck protection. Holds six tubes on the back...they are side pull. 2 large front pockets with separators that can hold 2 small tubes in each. It also holds a 72/4500 tank. Academy Sports $32. It also has loops on the front of both shoulders to stick your remote through when your marker isn't attached. (Not what it's meant for)...but helps not to drag it in the dirt. I run my tail off with this thing with all six loaded in the back or 4 smalls in the front with the HPA tank (carbon fiber). The weight is distributed pretty well on your shoulders and it has a wrap around velcro-strap for your waist.

03-23-2007, 06:32 PM
Hey DRAGON so what did you decide to go with?

Haven't really made a decision yet. I'm still deciding whether to get some sort of remote getup or just get a drop and attach the tank directly w/o the stock attached. The stock with the bottle attached is uncomfortable for me. So it's gonna have to be one way or the other. It's uncomfortable with the tank directly attached as well so if so I'll need some sort of drop if I go that route. I've really been through some crapola with this marker. Seems it's been taking forever to get it running like I want it to and now this...........

Picchi...that vest looks nice and the price is right but if you've ever been to Florida in the summer you'd know it gets hella hot and humid. Don't think that would cut it for me. I need something thinner. Even a mesh vest sounds good. I have seen them but they're prolly the ones that cost an arm and leg. All this is really frustrating - :o

03-23-2007, 06:50 PM

I did forget to mention that...I'm right on the Gulf in Mississippi....I know hot and humid. I might be switching in the summer.:(

03-23-2007, 08:14 PM
Dragon I picked up a mesh vest that could hold 8pods plus any size bottle(co2/hpa). It had four holders up front and 4 in the back and the bottle sat upright in the mid of the back. it was totally adjustable in fitting sizes and came with a sturdy web belt. I picked it up off of ebay for $29.99. it wasn't hot and like I mentioned before it was all mesh.

P.s. I live in central FL.

See the attached pics of the vest!

03-23-2007, 09:08 PM
BINGO! Exactly what I'm looking for. Please PM me a link if you have one since no Ebay links are allowed in the open forums. Wait, was that new or used? -

Probably not as cheap as what Viper put up but Allen Paintball custom builds vests.

Their prices weren't too bad. Only thing is they don't offer 140's in the front just 100's hmmmmmmmmmmmmm -

Decision time lol - good luck there.

03-25-2007, 11:04 PM
You could always go buy a cheap pair of black clamp-on suspenders...I know it sounds silly, but I know a guy who did that, and it didnt look bad

10-16-2007, 04:31 PM
Im gettin a 6+1 harness it comes with the suspender clips I think way better than the old JT velcro set-up I already have.

10-17-2007, 06:15 AM
Here man I think this is what you're looking for:

What I love about this vest is that is perfectly balanced! ahd you can arrange everything the way you want it and hide the bladder inside the vest.

and its a vest! it doesnt go below your hips...

I have the same thing and carried my 68/3000 in there..it didnt feel any heavier than my 20 oz

10-17-2007, 08:30 PM
i got a 6 pod belt and tank holder in the middle of my back i picked up some webing with clips on the ends from academy (they look like a gym bag sling) and used them like suspenders never had a prob. yet....

Yup they are on sale now for only 40 bucks!

10-17-2007, 09:30 PM
Hee hee, forgot all about this thread. That's a pretty nice vest for fourty bucks. Funny this thread should pop up because I just got a Spyder 4+1 digi-camo harness about 2 weeks ago. It's a decent harness compared to what I had. It's padded and fits well. The digital camo is teh shizzz! Only thing I don't like compared to my other harness is the velcro belt. I may just have someone sew the buckles from my old harness on it. I'll post a pic once I get a chance -

10-18-2007, 12:51 AM
heh heh.....hey drago...$20....http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/MOLLE305-19884-1977.html

And you can set it up as you like...

10-18-2007, 08:37 AM
yeah definetly use a vest, mine is a gen-x, its not great, but it gets the job done and I haven't had anything fall out yet. carries about 6 pods or so if you cram things in, but it will definetly help with your tank

10-18-2007, 08:48 AM
You can find very cheap vests-but really if you are playing in the woods make sure you get a high strength quality one...you dont want things falling off your vest of woods ripping ur vest

10-18-2007, 09:31 PM
Only negative about the vests in Florida is it's sooooo danged hot/humid here. I would only consider a netted material one for this place. Not too fond of having a heat stroke using a heavy thick material covering the whole top portion of my body -

Anyway, here's a couple shots of the camo one I just got - :D
