Everybody talks about what kind of eyes to get on their gun. first of all what are eyes and where do they go. would a shutter have them?

No, a shutter does not have them. For spyders you have to buy an aftermarket board, like the T Board, to have eyes, for now at least. There are 2 types of eyes, breakbeam and bouncebeam. Breakbeam read the paintball when it breaks the beam between 2 eyes that are placed opposite each other. Bouncebeam is one eye that bounces a beam off the paint back to the eye to read that the paintball is in the breach. If you'd like to read a little more about eyes on spyders check Otter's eye installation (http://www.ottersccustoms.com/eyeinstal.html)
