I think Stiffi tips look horrible. I haven't seen a single gun that it looked good on. They just don't flow with any barrel back.

I don't know, I kind of liked it on my Ego.

I care more about performance than looks really

I think it worked great performance wise. It is VERY light and helped quiet down my Ego. Accuracy was great too, but that is more determined by the back. I think the bore of the front is 0.700. All in all, all you really get from the front is a lighter setup.

If you want light weight, then get a Stiffi barrel. The front doesn't weigh much at all, so you aren't dropping much weight. Other than that, fronts don't really have performance gains.

Unless something has changed, you can't use swabs with stiffis, only squeegees. Just another point to consider.

I love my Stiffi tips on my Freak. I have the 14" and 16" tips and they rock.

If they make it noticibly lighter and quiter like I've heard I'll get one because then I could just get another back for different threaded guns

Looked at the deadly wind whisper barrel?
Its another CF barrel to consider.

thats a rip off I don't like to buy stolen ideas
and you can't switch backs
I'm prolly not going to get it if the front doesn't weigh that much

The Whisper uses inserts like the Freak...

The Whisper uses a different design. You can use a swab on it unlike the Stiffi stuff.

I second that notion. Not to mention it'd be cheaper.
Deadlywind Fibur (previously known as Wisper) Barrel = 90 Dollars
as opposed to..
Freak Back = 50 Dollars
Stif-Tip = 75 Dollars.
Not to mention you get a one piece all CF which will be a much greater difference in weight than with just the CF tip.
Just my two cents.
NINJA: To continue on with the it's not a stolen design.. It's a completely different design in their weave, resin, and bore sizing. The Fibur/Wisper barrel doesn't use screw on backs like the CCM, Stiffi, and SLY carbon fiber barrels do, they simply accept Freak Inserts, which slide in the back.

ok I'll consider it (means i'll get it)
edit no spyder threaded ones
That's a pain in the arse!
Well.. That's kind of disappointing.. I never even realized that. I would say then, just go with a Freak barrel and front, don't bother with the Stif-Tip unless you really think the Freak Tips are too heavy. But to be honest, the tip is just kind of a hype.. It looks okay which is the only reason I would buy it.

Yeah, I've never felt any weight issues with nay of my barrels, though I suppose the tiny bit lighter would let you snap shoot more easily, because theres less weight on the front of the gun, but to be honest, I don't play speedball often, so I never notice.
