Probably a a $60 tank and a $50 hopper
PMI Pure Energy Fixed N2 Tank - 48ci 3000psi
Odyssey Halo Backman LCD TSA Paintball Loader

If I make another suggestion on hopper. Tank is fine but the hopper isnt THAT good.

If you plan on getting another gun in the future, then that hopper probably wouldnt be best. I'd recommend an eggy 2. Cheap and fast. They can become faster for a small price tag of 20 dollars.

Just a suggestion.

If you get virtue for it the Halo TSA wont keep up with it.

I agree on the TSA not being a great hopper for an ION. I would reccomend looking in the B/S/T section either here or pbn for a used halo b or empire b. An eggy would work as well but the halo's and empire's are very customisable(sp?) and if you upgrade to a better gun they will work for that gun too.

I'm 16, turned it in August. I dont have a job. My mom pays me to shovel the driveway or mow the lawn. Adds up. :)

I got 10 bucks wed for shoveling the driveway 4 different times. :)
I broke one of the shovels, but I got the job done. :)

As for hoppers, I've always used eggs until I got a halo not too long ago. I still prefer eggs. ;)

I dont think he really needs a vlocity even with the high end guns...Eggs/halos will do fine,e specially if you can find cheap ones that work. :waytogo:

i can go without eating lunch but our school system uses this weird lunch account thing so my mom puts $20 in the account ahead of time and if i dont eat it just sits there and i can only use it for lunch (cant take it out either - too many kids would use their parents money to buy pot :D  :( )

I noticed one of the most important things you forgot to list for upgrades...

A QEV! (Quick Exaust Valve) With a Virtue board and no QEV, you might as well be using the stock board. They are REALLY cheap too. Also, might I suggest a new clamping feedneck and possibly a different tank. Kingman tanks arn't really that good. Personally, I like Crossfire tanks. Nitroduck is also good I hear. (QEV and new feedneck are the two most important upgrades to the ION besides a new trigger and a barrel in my book)

What type of field are you playing at? If its indoors and you have easy access to air, I would say to for a 45/4500 tank. That way you can have the gun closer to you, and make it more comfortable.

Thats not always more comfortable. Unless you push the ASA WAY out, a 45/45 is just uncomfortable for most people. Being all bunched up is NOT good form. Unless he's got super short arms, he should get a 68/45.

Eggy FTW

Shunut is sending me some sticker and pb34 im buying some from so ill be covering my eggy and gravity feed with them. Plus eggys, in my opinion, work good on most guns. If you need to shoot 25+bps then you need to play pump to realize you dont need 25 bps to be good. And the eggys are plenty fast. ;)
