I've got some to spare! I live in Oswego County upstate new york, right at the border of the lake effect snow you may have heard about on TV. It's been white-out conditions on & off for days, and the next towns over got over 6 feet of snow in a day!

I was thinking just the other day; all us northerners' who deal with this year in and year out, should give ourselves credit. It takes a hearty person to cut in in 15 degree/-20 wind chill winters. Just think... some people have never seen snow!

When I was a kid up in alaska we get 8 feet over a 3 day period, but I guess most would expect that up there, I used to live in Adrian MI and they used to plow the roads into your driveway so when you went out to go to work in the morning there'd by a 4 foot wall off iced over snow. Send some of that snow out here to Cali we need it for drinking water :D

Our area has been getting lots of media coverage. I guess there are only a few places on earth that have our lake effect snow phenomenon; there were crews from Germany in Mexico (a town upstate) yesterday filming. We got pummelled again last night. I woke to the news saying several areas have a no unnecessary travel advisory and Oswego is still a state of emergency. Thankfully I'm at the fringe of all of this. (EAS is 5 minutes from my front door)

Wow, I hate the snow!!! Comin from a Canadian guy that sounds funny. We haven't really got alot where I am (other side of Lake Erie from Buffalo) but we do get the lake effect garbage (shakes fist at the lake through window). I am definately ready to get rid of the negative degree temps, workin at a grocery store it blows going out to get the carts. I HATE WINTER.

Well, I love the snow, but up here its just plain cold. Im up in ON, Canada, and its been -25 to -30 on a regular basis (celcius, wind chill). When i get home from school my face is almost forzen off, but its all good, atleast i get those nice healthy red cheeks. Luckily its been dying down a bit, but it should pick up a little later. I pitty the people who live in the prairies (Alberta, Saskatchewan), over there its (or was not too long ago) -53 with the wind chill. With that kind of weather they close the schools because if a bus breaks down the kids are all gonners.... buts its all good here in the land of ice and snow. BTW, good luck with your snow blower:)!

Its not anything special.

Its solid water which mixes with alot of cold temperatures...Those 2 dont go good together. Then it becomes ice and thats why I cant get pizza. The delivery man is in the ditch somewhere.

So far in the last week alone, we havent had a day above 0* (32* F), and the average temp is something like -30 (-22F), with snow everyday, and no sign of it letting up for at least a couple weeks. it has been like this since mid january

We are bracing for another Nor'easter. I just got my snowblower back from the repair shop and I borrowed a buddys' roof rake to get some of the snow-load off the roof. While I was there I had my pilot and we shot up his backyard from the rear porch... man I can't wait for spring! Hope everyone is enjoying the snow I sent out, cheers!

It's too funny...
I'm watching the news and school closings/delays with my kids and they are showing clips from states south of us with cars careening off the road, people walking in snow, etc. We are laughing because there is only a few inches of snow there; my daughter is like "we went sledding on a day like that!" It's not uncommon around here to be unable to see the road from white-out conditions or sheer snow depth. You have to have 4 wheel drive around here or you are just another snow drift on the side of the road. After we get a few feet today & tomorrow, we get an arctic blast of wind with chills at -20F; cool huh?

Well, our snow stopped at noon yesterday. Of course, we don't get multi-feet of snow, but ours is usually accompanied by inches of ice and super strong winds followed by idiots who don't know how to drive on said ice and snow.....

Four weeks straight of snow, sleet, ice, rain, ice, snow, ice and more snow as of yesterday noon. Today, 60+ degrees, sunshine and all ice and snow melted. Gotta love Oklahoma!
