I was thinking about an Apex for my 98 Custom and was wondering what everybody thought about it before I bought it.Or is there better for the price.I play woodsball and very rarely step on a speedball field.Open to suggestions.

IMO the apex does not work as well as advertised. Out of three you have listed, the Stiffi is the better choice. But the J&J's are also very nice.

Yes it does work like advertised. No I would not suggest buying it.

Get a good kit or single barrel for less money.

Like they said, but I would'nt recommend it because it is not as accurate as other, cheaper barrels. I just sold mine for that reason.

OK, here's the deal.......the Apex does do as advertised......but is not exceptionally accurate even with the spin disabled. However.......if you put the apex on an acccurate barrel........say a stiffi with an Apex like Mo at Spec-Ops uses........you get the same accuracy with enhanced abilities! I am going to put the stiffi on my stock phantom barrel:) All you need is a Delrin Sleeve milled to your barrel's specs and the specs of the Apex!

I say get a Stiffi barrel. I had a Stiffi barrel tip for my Freak kit and was very happy with it.

Where can I get a 98 Custom threaded Stiffi? I looked on Action Village and First Call Paintball.

Apex works as advertise but isn't that accurate because of the bigger size barrel that it has, if you want accuracy AND that funky options then I sugest to buy an Apex adapter. I mounted my Apex device on my J&J Barrel and let me tell you I got the distance and curve of the apex device and I got the awesome accuracy of the J&J Barrel.

I think the Empire kit is a steal. I just looked to see if they had one for my ion, but sadly they didn't.
