Call kingman, or email them. They usually send you a new one :)

It has happened to numerous people on here. You can play without the top tube being covered. Actually i think the new pilots don't even have a cover over the top tube. If you can't get a new one from Kingman, don't worry about it. Just sand down the edges so it won't cut you.

yep, my friend wanting to play after seeing my guns bought a sonix. No backplate.

You really don't need that piece. Calling kingman to replace it won't do anything either. It'll just break off again. It's the design of the bolt. It's too long. Nothing you can do about it. Just keep playing and have fun.

If you do call Kingman to replace it they will just send you a newer style one. The newer ones don't have the top part. You should just sand it down and leave it the way it is.

File down any rough edges and continue on using it, absolutely no impact on gun operation. Next thing you'll probably loose is the top-cocking pin, before you ask there is noway to know whether or not it will happen and definitely will happen at the most inconvient time possible. Solutions??? rear cocking bolt or a couple of spare cocking pins. If you are one of the luck few that can actually tighten the setscrew on the back of the bolt (good luck with that, red lock-tite is damn good) then that might prolong the inevitable. By the way welcome to the club.

this happens to almost everyone that i knew with a spyder. It was just from the bolt hitting the backplate and causing to break. Your fine without it
