With the freezing rain that fell over night icing over everything, I thought i'd take a few pictures. Clicking on them will open up a bigger, clearer picture.

I found it pretty cool how the sunlight was reflecting off the ice on the trees.

I know there are others who have worse (especially in oklahoma and kansas), so share your pictures too.

I didn't get any pictures, but I just walked outside for duty after school, and the ground is still covered in a thick sheet of solid ice (last bit of sleet we got here was yesterday morning around 9:00.) We didn't get it nearly as bad as those in the southern and southeastern part of the state, just really, REALLY cold with majorly dangerous wind chills. Over in that part of the state though, over 300,000 people lost power and still don't have it, according to the news!

It hasn't gotten cold at all this winter in Miami, unless you call 70* for 2 days cold.

Every year I look forward to winter I love the cold but it hasn't gotten below 30* once this year and has barely gotten below 40* I wish it was like that here.:(

Word. It hasn't been below 70 in the daytime since about 2 weeks ago. But that will all change tomorrow...and supposedly this time it will stay cold for good. :D

29 degrees for a low eh? That was the high here today. Lookin forward to a chance for snow tonight! Snow makes me happy :D. I'll be sure to take some pics if it does snow.

29 was about where we were today for a high - but the wind chill was brutal. The ice that stopped falling 2 days ago is still hard as a rock on the ground around here. Bad news - heard there's another storm moving in for this weekend....

yup, more rain and another chance for ice for this weekend for me too. It should stay above freezing for the most part but that's what they said about this last front up until a day before it got here. Texas weather doesn't make any sense at all.

I called it! :yay: Snow/sleet mixture has closed down schools in D/FW metroplex! Now for a few pics:

And they are saying we have another chance for ice this weekend starting friday night. I love snow but this ice thing is starting to annoy me. :rolling:

Well, here in sunny AZ we just got the coldest day in 16 years. 29 degrees.

Where in AZ are you from?

Out at my dad's work he had pipes freeze and break. He had to go out there at 3 am because his main supply line for his fire risers broke. He said the thermostat in his car read 19*. We aren't use to this cold in AZ. Luckily its warming back up.

Scottsdale. We had our cooler pipe freeze and break in our attic right over the kitchen. It rained from the ceiling until we could get the water turned off.

That sucks. My dad had a cooler freeze at his work. The people who have the maintenance contract came out and fixed like 30 leaks on it, turned it back on and there were like 20 more, needless to say they have to replace the coil.

in oklahoma its been averaged around 25* lately and all schools have been closed monday(due to MLK day), tuesday, wednesday, and now tommorow also. im stuck at home due to it all being ice and its starting to make me mad.

Well, not all the schools! We had to show, although most of the rural schools around us were closed due to snow, not the MLK day thing. Most schools, the ones that get out, use that as a professional day, though - but with the ice around they didn't have their work days. Sucks they have to make those up now!

This is the longest we've ever had so much ice on the ground. We finished getting ice about 9:00 Sunday morning, but with it being so cold, the ice hasn't gone anywhere and it's going on 4 days now. The biggest problem is that the little that does melt instantly refreezes, so it's been getting slicker and slicker every day. We had a lot of people falling today because of it. Now, we're kind of hoping it snows so we can get traction around here!

I want no school :(. We had ice rain a couple days ago, and yesterday. Made me sad because out 70* weather ended, and I want it to snow if its gonna be cold, which it hasn't been doing.

Messed up friggin climate. I heard in Bangladesh they were 31* below normals, couple hundred people killed by it so far.

Wow I'm lovin my warmer (er not warm) winter in western Maryland. Sometimes the wind gets pretty bad though and we have trees/tree limbs fall.

Here's one last snow picture for today. It was taken at my parent's house about 50 miles southwest of me. They got about 2 inches of snow; I'm jealous cause I only got enough to coat the ground here. :(

That's the first time my dog has seen snow. From what my parents have told me, she was totally flipping out at first and trying to snap at it all.

I wish i could have been there to see my dog playing in the snow the first time. It would have been so much fun play with her in it because she can get super hyper and loves to run all over the yard.

My dog's a wussy little min pin - she runs outside, decides it's too cold, turns around and starts banging on the door to come in. She'd rather do her business in the house and hope she doesn't get caught!

I've had dogs who would dive nose first into snow banks and burrow through them - that's when it's fun to watch them!
