I plan on getting an Ion in the near future and was wondering if I could co2 on it without hurting it in anyway. I have to drive an hour to get my HPA filled and my dad can fill my co2 up at home so co2 is more convenient but I would be willing to take the drive if co2 hurts the ion.

CO2 will hurt the Ion, and any 'higher' end gun. Get it Anti-Siphoned. It is better, but not the best, The ion will still run on it.
Ion is a good gun, i may have one up to for trade, if your interested, PM me

I have 4 friends who own Ions. (ok 3 are Ions, one is an SP8- Ion inside) 2 of them use CO2; both have anti-syphons on the tanks. Bamf (Ion x-pert) would be better able to address this, but I believe the internals could be sensitive to spikes or liquid CO2. Better safe than sorry I always say.

then, maybe invest in a scuba tank and fill station

Yea I thought about that and probably will after I buy my Ion. I can get the scuba tank filled at the local fire station and I could probably get a used scuba tank for about $50 from the police department.

We just played this weekend with the scuba re-fill and an 80 cu ft scuba tank. 4 of use were re-filling from it and played approximately 8 games over 3-4 hours. The tank still had around 1200 in it when we left. (see my review here on the yoke in that section)

I seen your review that is when I started thinking about investing in this. It just got pushed into the back of my mind and bought other stuff but I will probably have to end up doing that when I get my Ion.
Edit: And does an Ion and Impulse have the same threads for barrels?
