Basicly has any one ever done this to a barrel? how can you do it? (any links?) i am going to do this to my spyder pilots stock barrel. im doing this basicly for looks. Im planning on shortening it to 6 inches. also what is a good paint to paint the barrel over and make it a differnt color, again this is just for looks im still gonna play with my j and j.

this may sound stupid but what is "anno'd"?

Annodized. If you aren't careful you might end up with a barrel tip that's rough inside and can impart a spin on the ball as it leaves.

oh okay thanx. so should i just sand it?

I'd have to guess sand and polish to a mirror finish; but only at the very edge where you made your cut. You'll never match the original finish. I'd leave it be if it were me, or just buy a shorter barrel.

You'd better make sure the cut is perpendicular and then have the end crowned evenly. If not, the gas will escape one side of the barrel before the other and throw you trajectory off. A hacksaw won't be precise enough without a lot of grinding.
