View Full Version : Cocker Reg on spyder

ok, are there any mods i should do before i attempt this? i know the max output on the reg is prolly around 600psi so it could be high enough to run the spyder. i got a new reg for my cocker so i figured its worth a shot for a bit of performance, otherwise it'll just sit in my toolbox.
also how far can i turn out the reg? you have to take off the bottom to do so, so i would like to have it turned out from the start to save on time and effort. will it just stop or will it be like my cp reg and the screw will come all the way out?
thanks in advance.

If you are talking about a ergo reg there is a clip that prevents it from being unscrewed all the way. With the clip out the screw will come out all the way. As for your Spyder running at 600 psi, that might work, you'll just have to give it a try. If it isn't recocking or you can't get your velocity up with the reg turned all the way up to 600psi there are some small things you can try that aren't too expensive. First if you haven't already done this polish your internals, as seen here on Otter's Site (http://www.ottersccustoms.com/polishing.html). If you've done that or if that doesn't help you can try a higher flowing valve and/or a spring kit. Hope I helped some.

Stock 'Cocker regs went up to 800psi, I thought....Looks like 'Nutty got the rest tho.
yea cocker regs go to ~800. i put 1 on my spyder all the way opened and it was teh same velocity as before

yeah, its a stock '04 cocker reg, forgot to put that on the original post. so the pin wont come out when i open it all the way out? if it does should i just put it in enough that it holds (plus another half turn for good measure) and that'll be around 800psi?
and yes ive already polished my internals, and penny (nickle mod on the old boards) my solinoid becuase i lost my charger.
