OK so I was going through my CD collection seeking out the Christmas song CD's that I prolly play at most a couple times a year. When I was still in Michigan, I used to throw them on the box as soon as everyone got up to start making a total disaster area of the living room opening presents and throwing ribbons and wrapping paper everywhere. I'm sure you've been hearing all the habituals on the radio as well by now. Cheech & Chong, Jingle Bell Rock, So This Is Christmas and the list goes on and on till that big day. I know some of it is not considered.....COOL  but hey, it's all part of the holiday. I don't think Christmas would be Christmas w/o all of these tunes we prolly take for granted -

Anyway's.......wuts your favorite tune. OK, it doesn't have to be cool as long as it's your fav. I'd have to say that the song 'Emanuel' is my all time fav. Just something about that song that does it for me. I like choirs as well. Has to have a certain harmony that grabs me though. Kids choirs are very koo too IMO -

:candycane: :reindeer: :smileysanta: :stocking: So um......what's your favorite? Doesn't have to be just one, it could be a few or even by a particular artist - :present: :santa: :pop: :snowman:

Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer

Grandma got run over by a reindeer.
Walking home from our house Christmas eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
but as for me and grandpa we believe.
She'd been drinking too much eggnog,
and we begged her not to go.
But she forgot her medication, and she
staggered out the door into the snow.
When we found her Christmas morning,
at the scene of the attack,
she had hoof-prints on her forehead,
and incriminating Claus marks on her back.

Grandma got run over by a reindeer.
Walking home from our house Christmas eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
but as for me and grandpa we believe.

Now we're all so proud of grandpa,
He's been taking this so well.
See him in there watching football,
drinking root beer and
playing cards with Cousin Mel.
It's not Christmas without Grandma,
All the family's dressed in black
and we just can't help but wonder:
Should we open up her gifts,
or send them back?
Send them back!!

Grandma got run over by a reindeer.
Walking home from our house Christmas eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
but as for me and grandpa we believe.

Now the goose is on the table
and the pudding made of fig
and the blue and silver candles
that would just have matched
the hair on grandma's wig.
I've warned all my
friends and neighbors
better watch out for yourselves,
they should never give a license
to a man who drives a sleigh
and plays with elves.

Grandma got run over by a reindeer.
Walking home from our house Christmas eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
but as for me and grandpa we believe.

In all honesty I love this song:
A Strange Way to Save the World

by 4HIM

album: The Season of Love (1994)

Sure he must have been surprised
At where this road had taken him
'Cause never in a million lives
Would he had dreamed of Bethlehem
And standing at the manger
He saw with his own eyes
The message from the angel come to life
And Joseph said...

(CHORUS)
Why me, I'm just a simple man of trade
Why Him, with all the rulers in the world Why here inside this stable filled with hay Why her, she's just an ordinary girl Now I'm not one to second guess what angels have to say But this is such a strange way to save the world

To think of how it could have been
If Jesus had come as He deserved
There would have been no Bethlehem
No lowly shepherds at His birth
But Joseph knew the reason
Love had to reach so far
And as he held the Savior in his arms
He must have thought...

(CHORUS)

Now I'm not one to second guess what angels have to say But this is such a strange way to save the world ...this is such a strange way to save the world...Saving the World

Luke 1:30-33
30But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. 31You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. 32He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."

To fulfill the prophecy.

Again...

"Okay...
This is a song that uhh..
There's a lot of Christmas songs out there and uhh..
not too many Chanukah songs.
So uhh..
I wrote a song for all those nice little Jewish kids who don't get to hear any Chanukah songs.
Here we go..."

Put on your yarmulke
Here comes Chanukah
So much funukah
To celebrate Chanukah
Chanukah is the festival of lights
Instead of one day of presents, we have eight crazy nights

When you feel like the only kid in town without a Christmas tree
Here's a list of people who are Jewish just like you and me
David Lee Roth lights the menorah
So do James Caan, Kirk Douglas, and the late Dinah Shore-ah

Guess who eats together at the Carnegie Deli
Bowser from Sha Na Na and Arthur Fonzerelli
Paul Newman's half Jewish, Goldie Hawn's half too
Put them together, what a fine lookin' Jew

You don't need "Deck The Halls" or "Jingle Bell Rock"
'Cause you can spin a dreidel with Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock- both Jewish

Put on your yarmulke
It's time for Chanukah
The owner of the Seattle Supersonicahs
Celebrates Chanukah

O.J. Simpson, not a Jew
But guess who is? Hall of famer Rod Carew- he converted
We got Ann Landers and her sister Dear Abby
Harrison Ford's a quarter Jewish- not too shabby

Some people think that Ebenezer Scrooge is
Well he's not, but guess who is
All three Stooges
So many Jews are in showbiz
Tom Cruise isn't, but I heard his agent is

Tell your friend Veronica
It's time to celebrate Chanukah
I hope I get a harmonicah
Oh this lovely, lovely Chanukah
So drink your gin and tonicah
And smoke your marijuanikah
If you really, really wannakah
Have a happy, happy, happy, happy Chanukah
Happy Chanukah

lemme edit this before Barron jumps down my throat...

my absolute favorite would be TSO's A Mad Russian's Chrismas (aka the Nutcracker Suite) and Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24 (aka Carol of the Bells), then TSO's An Angel Came Down, then the rest of their songs, then Gary Hoey's Your A Mean One, Mr. Grinch. and finally some Bob River parodies...

Thats supposed to be drummer boy right? If so , cool song.

My favorite is probably father christmas by the kinks. Basically ridicules santa for not giving them anything, good stuf. But definatly drummer boy for the tradition type songs.
