OK, I give. I have been trying for the last hour and a half or so to get my Zeggy hooked up with the new shells I bought for it. The problem lies in the fact that it wont just close all the way, no matter what I do. Yes, everything is in properly. Any ideas?

I had to wiggle the on/off switch and light to get my z-board in. It was not an exact line up. But it worked.

You nubeish postwhore. You're already on the phone with me because I called you to get help. :dodgy:

Still isn't working...I'm going to work on it tomorrow so I dont end up throwing it out my window.

what color is it, invest in some smoke or clear shells so you can see what the heck you're doing.

bigred76
01-13-2006, 07:58 PM
I can't use clear because they are banned from some tournaments. I believe it is because it is harder for the refs to see hopper hits. And smoke, I hate it. Black fo' sho'. :smirk:

big_daddy_d
01-13-2006, 08:01 PM
understandable lol, figured that was the reason... Where do you play in San Jose?

bigred76
01-13-2006, 08:12 PM
I don't really play at a field, but there are two speedball fields I go to: Santa Clara Paintball and Sunol Paintball. Bear Creek just opened an indoor field up in Milpitas, so I might check that out soon. The reason for the shells is well, I might get on a team soon here and want to be legal.

Lay everything in the left side of the shell. The side where the switch is. I put a piece of tape over the extra hole(where the speed control dial used to be) from the outside and filled the inside area with hot glue so no paint would get into the hopper then removed the tape after the glue was completely hardened. From there it's just a matter of making sure all the parts are in the correct slots and wires won't be pinched by the support flanges. You're prolly stuck at the part where you have to put the shells together and fit the raceway/neck and large piece that the balls lay on in. After you've done it a couple times it really isn't that difficult. The part I hear most ***** about is getting the springs back in for the lid. The prob I had getting mine completed was getting the old screws back in for the lid. I had to drill the holes a little and find a tap close the screw thread to finally get them in. There was no way those screws were going in just screwing them in. Did you get the new shells with the thicker bosses in the front for the neck area screws? -

bigred76
01-13-2006, 08:18 PM
Yeah, I got that all done Drago. (Heh, I figured those out on my own for once LOL!) I don't have springs on my lid, don't like the feel they have. As for the shells, yes, they're brand spankin' new, courtesy of Durrel. :D

bigred76
01-13-2006, 08:27 PM
OK, Drago...I did exactly as you said to do, the only difference from the way I was doing it was that it started in the other shell than I did on my own. Still doesn't work. I think it's the battery tray, but I dunno for sure and don't wanna get anymore angry at it.

bigred76

OK, turns out there's a slight amount of plastic filling in the groove around the edge of the hopper which is part of the problem. Trying to scratch it out now because the Dremel is locked up.

GRRRRRR, this still isn't going together properly. Taking bit by bit apart to see EXACTLY wtf is the problem.

bigred76
01-14-2006, 11:03 AM
Heh, just got it fixed. Turns out all it needed was some force (from a hammer). The only problem is, I screwed it all together, perfectly, then realized I forgot the ****ing ball ramp. :doah: I'm just ****ing gonna leave it.

01-14-2006, 11:03 AM
:lolsign: :lolsign:

I did the same thing the first time I took apart my egg. You get the whole thing together and look down and see that stupid ramp :)

Glad you are all together.

I caught that edit. :smirk: No worries, it will give me slightly more ball capactiy (see "God's Capacity Mod").

****. I'm a ****ing moron, I put both harnesses on the board ****ing backwards. Now I HAVE to take this ****ing pain in the ass apart.

bigred76
01-14-2006, 02:36 PM
OK, got it working right and put everything in correctly...I believe one of the problems I was having was the ball ramp because it is slightly too big. I just pushed it closed an' screwed it shut, and now it works. :)

I Dremelled the retaining for the lid so it would be easier to get it shut and opened....only problem is I took just a little too much off and now it wont close. Any ideas?

DRAGON
01-14-2006, 02:49 PM
On the lid or shells. WTF, why did you of all things dremel it lol? Sounds like you have a short fuse red..........

bigred76
01-14-2006, 02:51 PM
Heh, I figured it would take too long to sand it. :doah: I dremelled the shells.

What do you mean short fuse? *starts twitching and left eye starts going crazy*

run a lighter over the little ridge and it should puff up some, I did it and it work fine.

bigred76
01-14-2006, 04:19 PM
Nope...now all that happened is my shells are melted together in one spot and smell of smoke...:(

ad0131065
01-14-2006, 04:23 PM
did you dremel the whole ridge thig off?

bigred76
01-14-2006, 04:25 PM
No, there's a good 1/16th of an inch ridge on there....

ad0131065
01-14-2006, 04:36 PM
...i have no idea if that didnt work...get another set of new new shells...lol j/k

if you wanna be original, you could duct-tape a pod, with the bottom cut out, in place of the lid. Would look ugly as mod'd be blade. Depending on how high you cut the bottom, the more extra paint you can hold. If you dont want a ghetto-fab hopper, then get a new lid.

WhatThaSmurf
01-14-2006, 05:15 PM
add a layer or two of black electrical tape to the ridge to thicken it up

bigred76
01-14-2006, 06:13 PM
That's a great idea, Smurfy! I LOVE YOU! Not in that way, but yeah, thanks!

if the tape doesnt work you could dremel the entire ridge off, bend a paper clip so it looks like:

|______|

then drill holes smaller than the paperclp (if you can, if you cant... uh hammer a needle threw or sumthing) then superglue it in the hole. aka the dfel paperclip mod. and yes, i just made it up.

Get new shells and learn by your mistakes or put the springs back in and they should half way hold the lid up -

bigred76
01-14-2006, 07:46 PM
Heh, no springs, and there's no way in ****ing hell I'm gonna buy another set of shells. Especially not after the living hell it's been these last 24 hours with these ones. I'll just figure something out to fix it.....

bamf-hacker
01-14-2006, 07:57 PM
If you have a small lip, get a few small magnets from the "Shack" make a small indent in the plastic and epoxy the magnets in place. That should be enough to keep it closed.
