So I saw
Casino
---- Royale
------ 7'''
today, and I was very disappointed.

It was 2 hours and 30 minutes long, which I guess makes it more worth my money, but it lacked the classic Bond theme.

First of all, the whole beginning wasn't very Bond-ish. To me, James Bond is supposed to be a spy, but in the beginning, he seems to be unnecessarily reckless and not very smooth like.
Second, where is all the technology? What happened to Q? No cool gadgets or anything at all, which was a very large disappointment to me.
Third, Moneypenny? There is always a Moneypenny in Bond. I guess the scene between the introduction of Vesper and Bond kind of hints towards her being Moneypenny, especially in one of the things he says, which I can't remember.
Fourth, I didn't think the Plot was very Bond-ish, again, it was kind of lame, and didn't have much action to the idea. The whole poker thing is an okay idea, but it's too easy to figure out what is going to happen.
Fifth, CARS?! There was a DBS and a DB5, but thats it. No cool gadgets in either, and no cool car scenes. I was very very disappointed in this.

There was more I didn't like about the movie, but oh well.

Only thing is, a lot of this is because the novel was written that way..

Anyways, to those of you have seen it, what did you think?

Its supposed to be the beginning bond, before he officially became 007, and got his liscence to kill or w.e. this is why there is no gadgets or familliar people.

That is quite correct. The James Bond saga highly reminds me of Star Wars in that sense. Noone should see this movie without understanding that. To cut down to the nitty gritty, I give this film an 8/10 because it was good, but could be better. If you don't think it's Bondish, then you truly are mistaken in your comprehension of these films.

Yeah. I heard that it was the best Bond movie yet. I guess if you didn't think so, either you didn't understand it, or it just wasn't your cup of tea..

i dont relaly like bond movies, but this one was alot better in my opinion. Kind of dumb but cool ending how it all came together with that last message (wont spoil), but whatever.

I saw it the other night too and everyone was saying that it was good and you should see it but my impression was that the directors made a 2 and half hour fight seen then right before the movie came out, they were like oh **** we need a plot. So I would say save your money and two and half hours of your life and not see it.

it was to stop the financing of the bomb makers...Bond movies always have many little plots insted of one big one.

:yeahthat: Jeez Hopps, think before you post. If you had, you'd notice the plot.... unless you were just sleeping through the whole movie. I'd not say it was the best Bond movie yet, but only because I really liked the one before last (can't remember its name, third one with Pierce Brosnan as Bond... had the boat chase scene at the beginning).

TWINE: the world is not enough. i remeber playing the video game and blasting the chick as she got off the boat and failing the mission since she kills herself at the end and you have to chase her.

Yeah, that's the one. I hated that game... Goldeneye FTMFW. But the movie was flat out awesome. :)

LOL.. when did I ever say there was no plot? I just said it was crap and weak. Maybe you guys should think about what you read. Or see a movie that makes you think about the plot and then you will realize how bad this plot was. :dodgy:

i can like a movie if i want to. i dont need you to tell me what is a bad movie and what isnt. so if you aren't going to offer some sort of constructive criticism towards the movie then you should keep your personal distastes to yourself.

Ouch much?

Hoppy, I read into what you said as much as what you said. Word yourself better in the future if you wish for a different meaning. ;)

OK.. do the same for yourself.. Also, I re-read what I said and I never said Max the movie is bad, I was just stating my opinion and you were stating yours, idk why you guys got all fed up about it. Apparently everyone has to agree with you and can't have thier own opinions or feelings. :dodgy:

but you said the movie is crap, and a waste of time. so im assuming that to mean that its bad. and you still didnt get my main point. i dont care if u disagree but you arent giving and details as to why. if you are going to say a movie is crap then you should at least explain why.

I did. It was a 2 and half hour fight scene.. now if you like those types of movies.. the you would like it. I like a better plot that twists around and makes you think. Did I honestly not say this like in all of my other posts?
