Compressed air or Co2

whats better Co2 or compressed air i dont know what the difference is but the compressed air is much expensiver and all my buddy say it only lasts like 5 200 round hoppers and no one really fills them as much as Co2 plus he has an ION and thats all they take i have a 06 electra w/eyes?
