I am looking to get a promaster, and i need an asa or asa-on/off. I am very cheap so do I really need an on/off. And what does an on/off do?? If I can live with just and asa then that would be great.

on/off asa's are just a way to save money, air and probably your tank

when you screw a tank into an asa without an on/off toggle it lets out a little bit of air, and gives you a little bit of a scare.
I about dropped my tank when i first experienced it.

Personally i would get an on/off cause you can find them used, and some of the lower end ones are cheap such as the bullet drop asa

Or you can unscrew the tank partialy and shoot out the remainig air. The uncrew the tank the rest of the way, works for me.

ok, I will see if I can get a cheap used one, but if I cant then I will just get an ASA

also an on and off helps take the tank off because sometimes when your unscrewing the compressed air tank its way harder because the pressure from the tank. If you have an on and off with degass unscrewing the tank is effortless. Also it helps preserve the tank threads If you uscrew your tank alot.
