http://www.budgetsim.org/nbs/

I played and managed to completely erase the defecit and come out with a surplus.

Old budget was $3747.36 billion
($2672.527 billion in spending, $1074.833 billion in tax expenditures and cuts).

New budget is $3240.56 billion
($2226.09 billion in spending, $1014.47 billion in tax expenditures and cuts).
You have cut the deficit by $506.8 billion.
Your new deficit is $-105.79 billion.

I hear so many kids always talking about how bad President Bush or our politicians are, so now's the time to show everyone if you could make a change. This isn't meant to bash a certain side, because I'm just as angry with how Congress is being ran as the next person is. So have fun with it and see what you can do..:)

the deficit is how much we lose every year. yes, it is in the billions.
the debt is all the deficits (and the occasional surplus) added together.

The Outstanding Public Debt as of 27 Oct 2006 at 01:15:42 AM GMT is: 8,558,438,533,704.22

Yah but if you have a surplus every year, at least it makes a dent in the trillions ahahaha.

bah - national debt....really, who cares about the national debt? If it were run like a bank, we'd foreclose on ourselves....if there were going to be serious problems with it, it would have happened the first time we hit a BILLION, let alone a trillion.

They should call it the "We waste billions on countries that basically hate us, making sure they have enough food and weapons just so we MIGHT have an allie other than England somewhere else in the world" fund....

in reality, I could eliminate our debt...but the rest of the countries around world would be 300% more pissed off at us than ever were...
