I think I heard someone sayed something about lubing the vs reg, how/why do I this? also can I use extreme rage or gold cup lube in it

lubricating the reg will increase the life of the o-rings.

those lubs you mentioned are fine. and 3-in-1 oil found at any store (including the grocery store) works well.
