View Full Version : What Loader?

After having played a 7 hour scenario game on Saturday I have come to the conclusion that I need a faster hopper than than my Halo TSA. I kept outshooting it, even though I was using a stock spyder board, so I guess I was capping it because the TSA is supposed to feed 13-15, and after a couple seconds of fast firing it would chop... Anyway, a new loader is always a good investment because you can use it on all your guns, so which one to get?

(prices from my local store)
Reloader B2 - 154$
Relaoder B - 140$
Halo B w/rip - 110$
HaloB w/V35 Board - 130$
Vlocity - 130$
Egg3 - 75$
Egg2- 62$

Which would you suggest and why? I have heard that the VLocity is the fastest and the lightest of all those, but I have also heard that its kindof loud? I'd also prefer to spend less if its possible. Of course I don't want to cheap out and sacrifice speed for money saved because in the end it'll come back and kick me in the butt. I spent I think 40$ on the Halo TSA, and I could have had an egg for only 20$ more which would have been more than worth that extra 20$. I suppose I could get one of these hopper used, but that still doesn't change the real question, which is the best for the value?

Thanks :)

Vlocity FTW. The Egg 2's are ok for spyders too..

10-16-2006, 04:07 PM
VLocity is a great loader... Watch my Video review to hear the sounds of it and a speed test.

Just make sure that the VLocity you get has the wide mouth body.

I just got my Wide Mouth VLosity!!!! Its AWESOME!!!!! (Thanks D!)

Hmmm, can anyone think of any real negatives to the VLocity?

I've heard people say the feed hole is small. But don't they have a new shell with a larger feed hole? I geuss the only negative thing would be it's kinda loud. Not really negative.

10-16-2006, 05:09 PM
Its kind of ugly... Theres a negitive. lol. Thats about it though.

10-16-2006, 05:17 PM
In my order by costs Vlocity, Halo b w/rip, egg 3. But you know whats weird, my halo feeds slower than my egg even though I just put new batteries in it and my egg has a Y board.

10-16-2006, 05:18 PM
wait Egg 3?

Edit: I just looked it up... Didnt realise it was out. Wow so it only holds 10 more balls... has a locking lid, and is basicly a Z-boarded Eggy 2?

10-16-2006, 05:20 PM
yeah here (http://www.xpaintball.biz/ViewLoader-eVLution-3-Egg-Hoppers-P17131C1476.aspx?afid=16) Pretty new product

10-16-2006, 05:30 PM
OOoh I like that little cap that covers where the Y-board had the speed adjuster. Or is that a button now? Anway, cool beans. But back to the topic.

Well, I suppose its reall down between the eggy3 and the VLocity, unless someone thinks the Halo is better. Is it worth spending double the price of an egg3 on the VLocity?

10-16-2006, 05:39 PM
VLocity, anyone who says it is loud has supernatural hearing. The only times I hear mine is at the start box during the countdown. After that I never hear it again until the end of the game.

Anyone who plays woodsball have any thoughts on loudness?

10-16-2006, 06:03 PM
i would take a used halo over a new eggy 3 any day of the week. But i just traded for a used halo w/ v35 board, so you should consider that too. but over all i would go wit teh vlocity.

10-16-2006, 06:03 PM
I deffenetly think the velocity, the egg3 isn't nearly as good imo

Hob Hayward
10-16-2006, 06:07 PM
Well thing is it costs slightly more than half as much...

10-16-2006, 06:08 PM

not a used halo, a used halo b cost less than a new eggy 3

10-16-2006, 06:09 PM
Yeah, I think I would choose, a used halo b, over an egg3, but don't get me wrong the egg is a great loader, I just think the halo will give you more bang for your buck.

I guess I'll go with VLocity then, I'll look int oa used one tmrow, but I just found at that because my local shop is moving, they're having a blowout sale, if my man there has got a smoke VLocity I'll be buyin it.

If you want a quiet but really quick feed system... Q-loader. Haha. But its like a $175 package.

10-16-2006, 07:51 PM
This is kinda off topic but is still on the topic of loaders

Which one is better a reloader B or a halo B and why is one better than the other, when they both look the same to me????

10-16-2006, 08:33 PM
That is based on opinion really. Some say Reloader, some say Halo. I had a Halo and it worked awesome and I never had any problems. If you really want to make it fair, throw the VLocity in the mix, well no thats not really fair because the VLocity owns.

10-16-2006, 08:54 PM
k so this is kinda like the IOn vs. the promaster. they are both great but it comes down to preferance. and the reason I didn't get the vlocty is it is ugly and I had a killer deal on an upped halo. so I went wit teh halo.

Well Empire B is sound activation, I prefer sound activation to laser activation, but its personal opinion.

I will remember that next time I play with you. I'll yell at your hopper. Either that or fart on it.

Hob Hayward

They don't work by yelling at them... I've tried, beleive me... works only by firing or hitting it.

10-17-2006, 01:46 PM
It's not really "sound" activated. It's more of a sound/vibration activation thing. External noise won't activate it. To me, it's much more reliable than the eyes on the Halo. It'll always feed, no matter what.

I've had my Reloader for almost two years now - not once has an outside noise made it agitate. Not another gun, not a yell, nothing. Also, I've shot it on my Shocker, my Angel, my T1's and TES, my Spyder, a friend's Cocker, used another Reloader on an Ego, on Timmy's, on a DM6 and a PM5. Just about every gun out there, and the Reloader B has fed consistantly every time, so the stories about it feeding when close to another gun, or not feeding on quiet guns is not accurate in the least.

Reloader B's come with everything stock that you would have to upgrade a stock Halo to, and costs about the same. Not that Halo's are bad - I just prefer my Reloader. This is just my opinion of course, but I figure if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

10-17-2006, 02:56 PM
Whats this thing I have seen for Reloaders and Halos that attaches to the gun... I mean I know what it is, but will that work for him and his gun?

10-17-2006, 03:44 PM
I think you're talking about intellifeed.

You can "intellifeed" a loader to agitate everytime the gun is fired - I've personally only seen them done to Angels, but I suppose it could be done to other guns. Don't see the point in them anymore since loaders are faster than guns and way faster than most people can shoot these days.

10-17-2006, 03:50 PM
I've seen it with Angels, Cockers, and DM's. I think the DM's and Cockers were self mods where they tapped it directly into the board though. (Actually I know the Cocker one was... the guy made a pump cocker, milled it and built in the intelifeed with a wire that had a quick disconnect on it.)

Hob Hayward
10-17-2006, 04:39 PM
Why the heck would you intelifeed a frickin Pump cocker... I mean, why have an e-frame on a pump in the first place, much less a fast hopper....

10-17-2006, 06:03 PM
why put spinners on your rims??? doesn't do much for it, but kinda looks cool to the owner.

10-17-2006, 06:27 PM
Intellifeed made sense on older Angels because they were prone to double feed....also, Angels powered the hopper as well as activated it so it was alot lighter....I cannot see the need for any other marker....

I just got an amazing offer, 115$ for brand new reloader b2 (from the proshop near me). I think I'm gonna take it. Anyone think the VLocity is still a better deal?

10-18-2006, 11:51 AM
Thats a good deal, they are 155$ at my proshop

10-18-2006, 11:57 AM
buy two and sell one so you get about $40 back.

Hob Hayward
10-18-2006, 12:14 PM
I know its a good deal, their normal price is 155 aswell, but I talk to the guy alot on aim. I asked him if he had a smoke shelled VLocitys left, and he said all he had left was a B2, and he'd sell it to me for 130, I was skeptical, because i had thought the Vlocity was better, but he then offered it for 115...

So my question, is the VLocity really any faster than the b2, epescially when I can get it for this ridiculisuly low price?

10-18-2006, 01:38 PM
VLocity is suppose to be the fastest out there at 35bps. I've never seen the stats for the B2. But I am pretty sure you cant fire your fingers at 35bps lol. So go with the B2. (pluss I like the look of the Empire hoppers better)

Hob Hayward
10-18-2006, 02:02 PM
Acctually the VLocity is supposed to be 25 BPS on gun, 35 bps drop rate.

I'll have to look into the B2 speed.

10-18-2006, 02:07 PM
Well the normal Reloader B is 22+ BPS. So the B2 must be a little faster. Maybe 25?

Hob Hayward
10-18-2006, 03:09 PM
Well having done a bit of reasearch, the trade off between Vlocity and B2 is Vlocity is lighter, but the B2 feeds slightkly faster.

Does anyone know how much the weight difference is?

10-18-2006, 03:39 PM
Well Its a good price and think of it this way youll never need to upgrade hoppers later.

10-18-2006, 04:11 PM
Is a halo b with skock tech hot rod kit a good loader, cuz I got a great deal on it and just want to know how good of a hopper it is.

10-18-2006, 05:05 PM
I dont think there is that much of a weight difference. Also keep in mind. The Halo holds like 190 paintballs. As where the VLocity holds something over 200. So that weight is going to be pretty much evened out when you get the hoppers full.
