View Full Version : Which hopper and elbow for noob
10-13-2006, 03:37 PM
Ok, I am getting the MR1. I see that it has a side feed. What is everyone doing to connect your hopper to MR1? Just a plastic elbow? Are they that reliable? Does anyone have any pics of their set up showing the hopper/elbow feed connection?
Thanks for helping a noob out!!

Welcome to the forums
The MR-1 already comes with a clear plastic feedneck elbow, which is okay as long as your hopper isn't too heavy (stay away from electric hoppers). A plastic gravity feed hopper won't break the elbow unless you have lead balls in it or somthin, which I strongly doubt you ever will...
Chipley Custom Machine (CCM) is talking about making a metal clamping feedneck for the MR series, but I have no idea when it's coming out bcause they say nothing about it on their website.
Here is a pic of my elbow:

Have you ever seen a 45 degrees feedneck made of metal?
That is something lacking in paintball mods.

Sundragon is working on getting them, but CCM is being slow. A few people on here have them.

If you have access to a machine shop and have good measuring skills than it would be a cool project to try

Sorry. Back on topic; hold on to your pants people! I haven't experienced any problems with a plastic feedneck, and also with the MR-1 there is no need to get a heavier, motorized hopper.
