i have yet to determine why you would buy a Rocket valve with two o-rings when you can buy them with just one?

anyone?

Could you re-phrase that?

sry,

they make two versions of Rocket valves; one with 2 o-rings (front and back), and one with 1 o-ring (front only). i was just wondering which application the 2 o-ring valve would be necessary for?

The two o-ring one would probably be easier to seal, but I think it's the older one that maddman made.

The newer one with only one o-ring is shorter, making it closer to the size of a stock valve.

that was my assumption. i knew the two o-ring one was older, just didn't know if people were having seal issues or not. i don't have any with my single o-ring valve.

just needed to put that little piece of info in my paintball library in my head. lol!

First of all, I wasn't aware that they made a Rocket w/2 o-rings. Mine is about 3 years old and has only 1 o-ring. I'm thinking the 2 o-ringer is a newer version. Is this 2 o-ring Rocket for Spyder's, another marker or all markers? Maddman has a new owner Rusty Brown. Hopefully he runs the company a bit more proficiently than Mike and Maddy did -

Ahhhhh, I suppose I'll answer my own question; the Spyder valves still only have 1 o-ring. The one's with 2 are for different markers -

the top left picture on Maddman's valve page (http://www.maddmanproducts.com/accessories.html) has the 2 o-ring design which i thought was older than the 1 o-ring design that is pictured on the top right of that same page.

Heh....sure enough, didn't see that. I was looking here. (http://www.maddmanproducts.com/rocketvalve.html) I suppose they put the 2nd o-ring on to seperate the barrel pressure from the striker pressure. Not really sure -

hmmm... would having the 2 o-rings then be more consistant (velocity wise) shot to shot i wonder?

Possibly...very little effect though...VERY little.

Here's the answer I got from Maddman:

as to the one O-ring valve vs the 2:
the one o-ring valve is for blowback spyders, the 2 o-ring one is for non blowback electronic spyder and spyder clones. I plan on updating the web site to provide more detail in the near future when I get some free time.

On another note, you can expect the prices on the valve to go up $5 with the new owners. Something to do with increased metal costs, bla, bla, bla -

They did before, it just depended on who it was from. If they owed you money no response, if you were sending money, immediate response lol - :D
