Well, the base model NXT photos have been released by pbhub.de

I'm really liking it, and I may pick one up as a backup for my Empire2. Comes with a Nerve board, thats the only downside to me. I dunno the specs yet, but I'd hope to god it has a HE bolt stock. First things I'd do is lose that ugly feedneck and get a new board.

More pics can be found here:

Specs from Sean @ Smart Parts West:

Comes with HE bolt stock and MSRP is $725.

Roller Trigger
Break Beam Eyes
New Frame and Trigger
Better anodizing
Snatch Grip
HE Bolt
New Regulator Design
New ASA (no more small pin)
Trigger pins and board pins are now Screws

Meh its still a shocker.

I added the specs. Definately looks like SP is moving the Shocker in the right direction. They've clearly improved where I thought they needed to. The only thing it still needs is Blackheart stock. Still good gun for the price. Its a strong canidate for my backup.

Also, remember the debate we had awhile back about Shocker vs DM? I'd be hard pressed to have that same debate against the NXT. Its really hard to go for a DM over these.

I think I would agree, however if you recall the discussion I didnt have much nice to say about either one.

09-21-2006, 10:31 AM
Well thats because me > you.

i really like the looks of this one, but the VA still looks funny.

i dont like that grey and black but the black and red one looks hot. im very pleased with this gun.

does it look like a cut in half dm6 to anyone??

needs a new frame, and whats the engraving near the back?

09-21-2006, 02:08 PM
looks like Lisa :)

I like it...

Probably an SP or Shocker logo.

I'm pretty sure the mixed parts won't be sold, just the solids. I think the mixed were just for pics.

Ya that feedneck and grip look terrible but other than that two thumbs up

09-21-2006, 05:43 PM
I like this shocker but my favorite one is the hybrid shocker, this one comes after it.

09-21-2006, 06:00 PM
looks like a damn ion with a foehn body

09-21-2006, 06:10 PM
i hate how they ruin the new shockers with those nasty looking ion regs.

I can't believe so many people think they are ugly. The only reason you people say they are ugly is because you think they are Ion regs. First of all, they aren't. Secondly, if CP made the reg and it looked that way, everyone would go bananas for it.

I second that.

Clear grips like that are FTL, but I don't think they're going to sell it like that, lol. They'll probably color match they're Pro-Touch grips with them.

Me gusta the new Shockers mucho.

No... i wouldnt buy a reg that looked that bad.... CP makes a decent looking reg... That is just horrible...

Ehh its not my style...

The point in saying what Chris said, is that reg, the Ion and the new Shocker reg, are both the same as the CP reg. In fact, the old Ion reg was just as good if not better performance wise.

09-21-2006, 08:37 PM
Actually, what I was saying that people are bashing it because they think its an Ion reg, when in fact, its actually a modified and improved Ion reg. They started making a new reg, just happened to put it on the Ion first. They found its faults and improved it for the NXT Shockers. There's one thing I don't like about the NXT regs, and thats the black ring at the bottom. I haven't seen one in person though, so I may like it. I like the milling on them though. The Dynasty, RL and base regs look good. The ND ones look like crap though. Don't remember what the Evil and Tremor look like.

I'm with you Bamf, I love the Shocker, especially that one! But I don't have the $$. Kinda off topic Bamf, but I'm in the process of making a custom ION Body out of wood, yep I said wood. I'm also going to make a reg cover and custom carved left handed grips out of wood as well. Why you ask, because it hasn't been done yet. I'll be posting pics on ionowners when it's done. It might look almost as good as lisa.

that reg & asa is ugly IMO, i'd rather have a 2k4 SFT...

09-22-2006, 03:26 AM
i think they are selling them in split colors btw. the link at pbn shows atleast 4 or 5 of them with mix-matched... unless someone did that to double the fun or somthing. and when you say nerve board allow me to clarify: the old boards work but they use a new upper board which reinterprets the signal from the eyes and sends a signal to the lower board in the same format as the old one, so no new boards will be neccisary for release.

First off let me say this has been brought to you by...

If anyone gets on here drinkin' that hatoraid get out now.

Now the NXT right out of the box is hawt. As far as looks I believe it far out does the STF, but that could be because I've owned a STF for two years now, and getting old of the same old look. The NXT's milling flows from the front to the back. It's very nice. The marker feels really nice in your hands. Break beam eyes was due, and they work very nice. Very nice eye logic. The snatch grip is possible to use, but I'm not sure if it's applicable in a game or not. The marker feels really solid without any issues. I shot half a hopper and one pod though the marker, and the accuracy was not what I thought it would be. I believe the marker needs to be adjusted, because I did turn down the operating pressure, and it came back a little bit. The paint is the other issue. I'm shooting 'rainbow' that's been sitting in a cold garage for almost a week. It's VERY brittle; however, I only broke one ball, and that was a barrel break for sure. The small hump in the back of the grip frame has a very nice feeling. Trigger is hawt as well. With some fine tuning I'm sure it will be fast. Very snappy, but also very light. Something only my NME can achieve.

Ratings. Personal opinion. 10's are VERY hard for me to give.
Milling- 10/10
Recharge- Appeared 9/10
Trigger- 9/10
Feedneck- 6/10
Feeling- 10/10
Trigger Frame- 10/10 (large enough to get in three fingers... maybe not used to it)
Overall- 9/10

The NXT Shocker goes above and beyond the STF. There's no doubt that this will be a very high seller for Smart Parts, and you will be seeing one at your field soon.

Issues- For one I don't like the feedneck. It would be good if I had my hopper, but the Hybrid shells broke (again). I'm using a buddy's unsanded halo, and I'm going to have to remove both o-rings. It will fit in there tight still though. The NXT appeared to be having some sort of issue, but I believe I fixed it. When I shot it around the fourth shot the bolt would not shoot. I had to shut off the air, then turn it back on and shoot another four. Once this happened I took out the bolt, lubed it, and put it back in. It still did it, but eventually stopped and I shot the pod of paint with no issue. I believe (just like my STF out of the box) I had lube up the marker from the factory. My third, and last, complaint is about the on/off. It is very hard to turn, but once again like my STF it will probably be easier the more I use it.

Honestly I would give this marker a 10/10 overall but no marker deserves that. It's simply amazing.

Out of the Box

STF on top of NXT

NXT on top of STF

Side By Side

Ball Detent

Ball Detents Compared. As you can see it's pretty much the same, just all internal on the NXT. As a side note the foam below the screw on the NXT ball detent holds in that screw, and pushes down on the vision strip.

I put on Hybrid grips and a freak back. Made the marker look VERY sharp.

Just a review from someone on the Shocker Forums of PBN. The Reviewer is aware of the fact that he says STF and not SFT through out the whole review.

^it is the opinion of this poster that the reviewer needs to be punched in the face.

That comment makes me think the kid has no idea what he is talking about.

10-01-2006, 02:14 AM
Yes, that and eye logic. I've never heard of eye logic for break beam eyes.. That's just stupid. You don't have eye logic for break beams... As it's either broken or its not. Only thing I can imagine Eye Logic would be part of, is preventing light from harming the beam.

10-01-2006, 05:46 AM
is the body bigger?!?

10-01-2006, 05:55 AM
Hmmmm, the more I see pictures of this new Shocker, especially when compared side by side (and top to bottom!) with the SFT Shockers, the more I like it. It does look bigger, but not much. Too lazy to check weight differences. I think I'd like to see it in person and shoot it. I bet it would be my next gun, if there was going to be a next.

While the review itself was poorly written and it seemed he didn't know exactly what to say, the pictures to me were very helpful. On another note, that reviewer has contributed more to this subject and this thread without actually being here than you have right now. And you want to punch HIM in the face?

It's been awhile since you've posted here - and your posting style has changed a bit since then if I remember correctly. I've noticed you posting in PBN a few times. Just for future reference, the post you made is the kind of post that is considered spam or trolling in this forum. I would ask that you please keep this kind of posting over in the nation as it's not needed over here. Nah, I think I'll just tell you to keep that kind of posting over there.

The new NXT is the first shocker I have ever liked, looks wise.
