It took me 2 full days and used just a file, sand paper and rustoleum. The paint is very durable, put like 7 coats on it,so if any of you are too cheap for anodizing just use rustoleum.

Very nice. I painted my Pilot and baked it in the oven suspended from a wire and it really toughened up the paint. If you experience any chipping give it a try.
