I'm currently looking at picking up a T Board and such and going ot switch out the top cocking bolt with a rear one. Now I/my brothers are, well we consider ourselves to be, mechanically inclined. So my question is where do I pick up eye covers and would somebody whose done this before show instructions OR offer to do it for me for a price of course. (Of course I'll buy the eyes and I can install the board no problem just can't drill for eyes.)

SD's website has a template for drilling eyes.....

If you go rear cocking you realize you'll be hacking the rear of the body, right?

He doesn't have to hack the body...just the top of the velosity adjuster...it might be off already!

will the pin portion of the bolt be reachable in the uncocked position?

With a rear cocking bolt you dont need to reach it.....but yes, it would...

My gun never came with that chrome cap. o_O either that or I lost it. Oh well, I'll either make it recocking or mill off a tiny bit of the back so I can just pull out the bolt

Also, looking at the template it has the eye holes a little bit behind the ball detent cover, shouldn't I put them right below the detent? and how low?
the newer pilots arent coming with the back dust plate...as for the eyes, i have no idea;) sry

The eyes go right across from each other dead center at the bottom where a paintball would sit when chambered to fire...if they were below the detent, they would never see the ball except on its way out of the marker!

you're right. thanks for the help vwjimmy! but by looking a the template it looks like it'd go right through the detent cover, is that supposed to happen or what? and will clay eye covers work? and if I don't want to comprimise my body would gluing the covers down work?

Get some Timmy covers....clay will work but Timmy covers will be safer, cleaner, and allow you to have two detents...
