That guy was the crazy ass freak, not afraid of anythingman.

Fixed for ya....

Actually, I figured he'd get bit by a snake or eaten by a crocodile some day. Stingray barb just seems sort of a letdown...

That guy was flippin' nuts! Anyone see that commercial he made where he supposedly got bit by on of the world's most poisonous snakes, but didn't have antivenom and died? That was hilarious!

not only was it that the barb peirced his heart, it went through the bottom of his ribcage, and up his chest to his heart. the man was invincible. Irwin was the true imbodyment of all those chuck noris jokes. he wrestled croc's and would play with the deadliest creatures on earth. there are no more hero's on earth.

there are no more hero's on earth.

I wouldn't go that far. Besides entertaining us and helping wildlife he really did nothing for the world, not enough to say he was the last hero left. Every single person in the armed forces risking their lives everyday so that we can keep our freedoms and enjoy guys like Steve Irwin on TV, those are really heroes.

he's the only cool animal guy on tv (Steve Irwin > Jeff Corwin, etc.) i read the report from his friend who watched the tape, and the guy said that steve saw it go inside him and then pulled it out. it was the pulling out part that killed him, from what i can gather. the guy also wants the tape to be destroyed after the coroners finish with it because he doesnt think the world should see it.

It's going to get leaked I bet

and i agree that the world shouldnt see it.
who are any of us to decide what the world watches... would i watch it? no. but would i want the freedom to watch it if i so chose? yes.

on another note if you meant shouldnt see it from the standpoint that no one should leak it, then i completely agree, because i can garuntee it violates what the producers are probibly agreeing on and it also probibly violates the will of the deceased's family.

I saw something about the tape being released on Yahoo. Like they had a link to watch it.

It will not be released. Personally I know that he went out everyday knowing he had an 85% chance of dying. It could not have been much of a surprise to his family. I mean ys they didnt expect it so soon, they looked at the bright side of things but he went doing what he loved to do. And really this is the kind of death he would have wanted. Fairly fast, they will be able to have an open casket (whereas getting mauled by a croc would not allow that) and he went doing what he loved. I read a report saying that he wanted to die on film, he wanted it to be released as well to show the world that these animals will catch up to you sometime. However I feel that it should not be aired. I feel like it would just be utterly disturbing. Also I am not too sure how much of that quote had been changed by the time it made it to my local paper.

while I share the many condolences shown by other forumers, I am also inclined to say that when you start fooling around with animals, reptiles and such...in their habitats...you are asking for a butt-load of trouble. He did do some fantastic things in his exploits but another part of me says "It was only a matter of time." Nature is one of those things people shouldn't be messing around with.

However, I'll not trample the man's name so I say "God's speed, Steve."
