View Full Version : Body longevity

While I was filing and sanding my Pilot's body to prep for paint, I noticed the upper portion of the hammer tube (where the elongated slot is between the bolt tube & hammer tube) has some wear and scratching in it. I've had it since early spring and played a lot with it. My question is; just how long will a marker body last under normal conditions, with regular maitenance? I would assume that either the hammer will settle in and stop creating any more wear or it will continue until some blow-by occurs and either the hammer or body need replacement. I would also assume the marker should last several years at any rate. Any one have any past experiences or input? Just curious, thanx .

I have never seen a Spyder worn enough to cause sealing problems unless it was never cared for and used alot....

It will be fine, wear is inevitable with the stock internals. If your really worried about it getting worse, you could always polish the tube and get a delrin striker.
