View Full Version : BREAKING NEWS!: Pluto is no longer a planet?!

08-24-2006, 11:21 AM

So basicly pluto is considered a moon now. It's also smaller then the united states.

So basicly, any planet that we discover that is a little bigger or as big as the moon is considered a moon or a dwarf planet. Interesting....

i hate how they keep changing their minds

08-24-2006, 11:27 AM
what the hell.. o_O i thought pluto wasnt anything.. i thought they said it was just a big chunk of ice or something

Baozer has been in a cave for the last 20 years... shhh. Lol jk. But it is a big hunk of ice... basicly.

08-24-2006, 11:54 AM
yeah i just saw that this morning
i looked at my dad and he looked at me and we asked the same question

"why should we care, we cant live there?"

08-24-2006, 12:06 PM
Less than 5% of the astronomical community voted on this; it will get overturned. Some people just believe everything they read.... *walks off grumbling*

Pluto is a dog not a planet. Silly...

08-24-2006, 12:07 PM
wow, the sun has its own moon now!

but seriously, its not gonna pass

08-24-2006, 12:46 PM
Does this mean all the science projects from 20 years ago get an F now. I can hear it now....." I spent 6 hours on the planet mobile, now you tell me it's wrong?!"

08-24-2006, 01:27 PM
i hate how they keep changing their minds

he got that right

08-25-2006, 03:41 AM
I've pretty much stopped paying attention to these minor changes

When did the dog become a planet :)

08-25-2006, 11:15 PM
Its so messed up man. I cant beleive they canjust go and do stuff like taht. I just straight up do not understand that ****. Screw scientists, Im going to beleive what I want. Pluto is a planet, and a damn good one at that. ugh. **** them.

Go to bed Moe.

Go to bed Moe.

08-26-2006, 05:39 AM
they promised 3 more and they get rid of one...

08-26-2006, 06:50 AM
I was watching the news and at a convention of astronomers or something like that they voted and decided that Pluto will be a Dwarf Planet.

08-26-2006, 07:02 AM
Oh I saw that they voted it to be a dwarf moon of the sun which I didn't quiet understand

08-26-2006, 09:15 AM
Go to bed Moe.
Sowwy.....but anyways

I think its kinda crazy that they can just go and do stuff like that. But really, does anyone really care? I personally don't spend much time thinking about a chunck of ice that is over 400million miles away.(that was a complete guess at the distance).

08-26-2006, 09:49 AM
Lightyears, Moe, lightyears... 5% of the astronomical community went to this. Pfft. "Top Astronomers" my ass.

Who cares? Having pluto a planet or not makes no difference to me. They could call it a sun that is burnt out and thus making it an slow moving comet and it wouldn't make a difference to me. How is pluto not being called a planet affect anyone in here? It doesn't. You want to call it a planet..fine..you want to call it a meteor..fine..call it what you will but it doesn't not mean that my gun will shoot faster or be more accurate.

i thought suns explode when they get old...

08-26-2006, 10:19 AM
:yeahthat: They supernova... lmfao... I don't want to be around when our sun goes out!

Splaterout, notice the title of this section. It's NPT, Non Paintball Topics. here is where we come with our non-paintball discussions, and some of us are really involved with them as well as paintball. ;)

08-26-2006, 10:36 AM
I understand that...I am just saying that it makes no difference to anyone. How can this affect anyone? It would be like the car companies saying that trucks are no longer going to be classified as a truck but as a Large Car. No one would really be affected by it but some people would still call them trucks. It doesn't make a difference is all I am saying.

Sorry about the supernova thing...that would really suck!

08-26-2006, 10:37 AM
And I'm just saying that I care because some radical 5% of the community got a stongpoint and basically took over the astronomical community. Next thing we know, we'll be calling the Sun the last name of their leader. :dodgy:

You can call the sun Barron anytime. It was I that suggested this idea, any problems with it? Who needs Pluto besides Mickey Mouse?
