View Full Version : Leed's Photo thread - 56k, you know the drill
Well, as a select few of you know, I have gradually picked up a new hobby throughout the years. No, not paintball, photography. Though I'm stuck using a camera that can't do anything well, and has a broken flash, I thought I'd share some of my photo's. And no, they're not entirely snapshots, but yes, I took most of them without setting them up. IE: I was walking around, say, DisneyLand, and I saw something that would look cool, and took a picture of it.
So, I think most of these pictures are resized, but I'm not sure. But have a look. Be aware, none of these are photoshopped, as I don't have the time to deal with photoshop right now, so here are the pictures as they were taken.
1. This one I did set up, it's pretty obvious what it is, and I was bored when I took this photo.
http://images1.snapfish.com/3478555%3B%3B%7Ffp356%3Enu%3D328%3B%3E859%3E466%3E WSNRCG%3D3233%3A476%3B%3A%3A33nu0mrj
2. The next few were taken in Disney Land (Epcot - Japan and China) - This one was in Japan, I think, and as you can see, it's a waterfall.
http://images1.snapfish.com/3478555%3B%3B%7Ffp347%3Enu%3D328%3B%3E859%3E466%3E WSNRCG%3D3233%3A47736534nu0mrj
3. This one, I believe, was in China, and it had just stopped raining, and I felt like toying with macro.
http://images1.snapfish.com/3478555%3B%3B%7Ffp355%3Enu%3D328%3B%3E859%3E466%3E WSNRCG%3D3233%3A476%3C889%3Cnu0mrj
4. This, in China, was a lilypad, I wanted to get closer and get some different pictures of the beaded water, but it was fenced off. I really don't like how half of the lily pads you see are dead, otherwise this would have been a good picture.
http://images1.snapfish.com/3478555%3B%3B%7Ffp348%3Enu%3D328%3B%3E859%3E466%3E WSNRCG%3D3233%3A47736539nu0mrj
Errr, my computer is acting up. So I'll edit some more pictures in later.
EDIT:
So my computer works now? WTF?
5. This was somewhere, I don't know where, but it was a little bridge going ontop of a small waterfall area or something. Used macro for this (digital though, no super lense's)
http://images1.snapfish.com/3478555%3B%3B%7Ffp347%3Enu%3D328%3B%3E859%3E466%3E WSNRCG%3D3233%3A4773653%3Cnu0mrj
6. Same as above, decided to go for a rule of thirds abiding picture
http://images1.snapfish.com/3478555%3B%3B%7Ffp356%3Enu%3D328%3B%3E859%3E466%3E WSNRCG%3D3233%3A4773%3A8%3B9nu0mrj
7. This was actually in Animal Kingdom, the picture is underexposed because the light was sun was covered, but the areas that are white on the clouds, when you looked at them, were extremely bright, and I thought it looked cool. Sorta looked like heaven, you know?
http://images1.snapfish.com/3478555%3B%3B%7Ffp348%3Enu%3D328%3B%3E859%3E466%3E WSNRCG%3D3233%3A47736543nu0mrj
8. This is a snapshot from a long time ago, nothing special. That's my little baby cousin, Isabella. No BS please.
http://images1.snapfish.com/3478555%3B%3B%7Ffp34%3B%3Enu%3D328%3B%3E859%3E466% 3EWSNRCG%3D3233%3A4773%3A926nu0mrj
9. This is my guitar. I set it up, and yeah, that is a Dunlop Tires Vinyl, I got it in the mail for some reason... -shrugs- and it would look funny on my car. This one is a little fuzzy.
http://images1.snapfish.com/3478555%3B%3B%7Ffp347%3Enu%3D328%3B%3E859%3E466%3E WSNRCG%3D3233%3A4773%3A938nu0mrj
10. Another of the above:
http://images1.snapfish.com/3478555%3B%3B%7Ffp352%3Enu%3D328%3B%3E859%3E466%3E WSNRCG%3D3233%3A47736558nu0mrj
Next post- 10 image limit
11. The rear end of my guitar, this one is my background right now, except it's 10 times bigger. The ball ends of my strings are color coded, so I personally think it would look better if they were all just nickle.
http://images1.snapfish.com/3478555%3B%3B%7Ffp347%3Enu%3D328%3B%3E859%3E466%3E WSNRCG%3D3233%3A4773%3A939nu0mrj
12. Fretboard + Strings + Manual Macro = This

13. My brothers girlfriend took this, I like it, but it looks a lot better fullsize. And I should probably crop this one a little.
http://images1.snapfish.com/3478555%3B%3B%7Ffp348%3Enu%3D328%3B%3E859%3E466%3E WSNRCG%3D3233%3A4773655%3Bnu0mrj
14. I think my brother took this one, pretty amazing, I have no idea what this is though (nature wise, anyone know?)
http://images1.snapfish.com/3478555%3B%3B%7Ffp358%3Enu%3D328%3B%3E859%3E466%3E WSNRCG%3D3233%3A47736563nu0mrj
EDIT: adding more
15. Another one of the above:

16. An extended shuttertime of a carosouel (major sp problem) in Universal Studios:
http://images1.snapfish.com/347858%3B79%7Ffp355%3Enu%3D328%3B%3E859%3E466%3EWS NRCG%3D3233%3A4773%3A945nu0mrj
17. Another one like the above, of the Universal Studios Glove thing:

Haha, looks nice leed. I think #14 is just a sunset/rise that blurred up ... :p.
... Hmm... i don't think it's your PC that acts up. Sometimes the edit doesn't work for me. Like half the box of the edit is filled in, and the icons don't work at all. Is that what happens for you too ??

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll be adding to this thread whenever I get more pictures.

It's nothing you have probably heard of. 6 string (obviously) Austin Rock guitar. Got it for 125, great guitar, I would take it over a Squire or Fender Strat any day, sounds great, I just wish I had a whammy bar. This thing is amazing for 125, sounds great, and is durable (I have a few nicks in it, from my amp somehow..)

Camera: Canon Digital Rebel XT (350D)
Just took this about 10 minutes ago. My subject was being uncooperative :dodgy:, so I just took what I could. This was the best of the bunch. :(

Edit: No post processing, just added a border and tag or whatever its called. I played around with it, but the colors wouldn't come out right, the picture in its original form showed her color the best.
Looks good Chris! I'd like to see some more of your photos.

Not at all, Dan. Anyone can post pictars here. So long as they're legit, and not just an asshat picture.
So I'm adding a few of, what I feel are, my best photos. I finally got a new camera!

I'm expanding my areas of photography. I've never been very good at portraits.. so I was trying it out some. Though, I've been told that it doesn't look good when the subject isn't looking at the camera. I can imagine it that way if it is set up to look a certain way, but personally find it to be more -natural- if they're not looking at the camera. Much to that extent, my friends weren't exactly aware that I was taking a picture of them until they looked my way after hearing a shutter.

A little something I did. If you're curious, and not big on cars, it's a Nissan GTR34 Skyline
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/150/363997170_fb724e58ec.jpg
That's normally much larger.. But oh well..
Don't know if I threw this in here yet or not:

she got leeds chopsticks in her hair....
Hahaha, yeah, she did. LOL.
Anyways, yeah, most of you caught on, but I'm curious as to whether it looks like an improvement, or looks kinda funny. Look for all kinds of CC here, I'm open for space to improve. Especially since I just picked up on this technique.
yod3r - I did it in photoshop, took some time, but I outlined the whole thing.
It saddens me no one commented on the first picture. LOL, I liked that one a lot :( . Then again, I'd been wanting to do that shot for a looong arse time...
Some shots from yesterdays Lacrosse game, since I couldn't play...
This first shot I liked, but I got too much sun...

That's all.. I was too lazy to photoshop any of them.. Therefor, I didn't. -_-;;
I also was shooting auto, because it was a hassle to be missing some good opportunities changing setups because in lacrosse.. you run up and down the field and I was on the bad side of the field..
