The World Paintball League (WPL) is the Professional level of the UAPL and consists of 24 teams from around the U.S. and Canada, fighting it out in a 3-on-3 format. Be sure to tune in the following week, January 14th, to find out how far the Milwaukee Rapture, an all womenís team, advances in the tournament. The WPL will play host to the first series in televised professional sports history that an all female team competes against all male teams within the same league. 01-06-2006, 09:33 AM
Ok so it's been narrowed down that it is on WGN! Now do you all think that is is WGNSAT (satellite) or local channel's WGN?

01-07-2006, 03:39 PM
So this is going to be on the same time every week for a month?

01-07-2006, 04:08 PM
It was pretty cool. Really fast and short games. It was fun to watch.

01-07-2006, 04:15 PM
Yeah, not bad. But I don't know about wanting to watch it every week. It'd get kind of boring, it seems. Same teams, same format, same thing week after week....

It was nice they had some REAL paintball players doing commentary though. The woman there was obviously only there for one, well, two reasons, that was obvious!

01-07-2006, 04:21 PM
Yeah, it was pretty good. Not sure about the everyweek thing though, but on saturday at that time what else is on TV? Nothing for me. Wait for April when paintball hits ESPN 2.

01-07-2006, 04:29 PM
Yea, the comentary was acually good. It made a difference acually have good commentary.

01-07-2006, 04:56 PM
I was torn between the Redskin/Buccs game and the UAPL. One proved to be much more exciting than the other, and it didnt have last minute commentators.

01-07-2006, 06:42 PM
Ah, I missed out, gotta wait till tomorow now.

01-07-2006, 07:03 PM
ahhhhh I couldn't find the channel. Hopefully I'll find it by tomorrow!

01-07-2006, 07:06 PM
it does show until midnight tomorrow for me, erg

01-07-2006, 10:00 PM
I watched it. It was ok! I love paintball but man watching it on the tv screen and seeing somebody get a splatter of paint isn't really that exciting. Couple of the bunker moves were cool! It reminded me of Spiketv's Dodgeball tournament's or like Rollerball! Camera bounced around a bunch!

In my opinion for paintball to be on tv and be "viewer friendly"....

5,7 or 10 man
Definitely not live so they can edit
Camera view of the whole field
When a key move happen's put it on small screen in a corner of the screen with less action that way we can still see what is going on with the rest of the field. Afterward's do a quick slow motion highlight reel to show what happened!

01-08-2006, 08:39 AM
thier cameras sucked. espn will do it better.. i saw them on one camera looking at a guy about to get bunkered and they switch cameras so you couldnt see it. and i could pretty much guess who would win what...

El Torofuerte
01-11-2006, 01:30 AM
I thought it was pretty good. The camera angles could be improved but im sure this is a work in progress. But at times it kinda reminded me of watching basketball, that its much better to play it then to watch it. But afterwards i was hyped!!!

01-11-2006, 07:54 AM
The only thing i liked was the commentary, I like hearing "okay watch him bump and shoot that guys face off". I like the game format but they need to work on their editing and their camera choices.

01-11-2006, 10:03 AM
I think a sky cam or possible head cams would add a nice effect, but those matches were almost too fast, 4v4 might be the pace they need.
