Well we were at the dealer buying an escape for my sister thats going back to college in a week and I asked if I could take the mustang GT for a test drive. We are good friends with the owner and he let me take out the GT with out a sales rep. 1st Gear was hella fast, 2nd gear - still really fast, but once I got into 3rd and higher I felt that it did not have as much torque as the first two gears. The car is real fast and real fun to drive but not what I expected, it is a really nice car inside and out but for 2500 more I would probobally take an evo or sti. Don't get me wrong, the car competes with camaros, gto's, and wrx's but I felt it could use a little more power stock :)

I don't think it has a chance against the GTO. Maybe the first year they brought it back and powered it with the LS1. The new ones that have the LS2 can smoke it. How can you say no to 400 horses and 400 lb ft of torque for under 35k.

The new GTO's only dyno at like 350whp/360lb-ft stock. That's not much more than a LS1 SS or WS6 with lip, headers, and duals with a tune. They also weigh almost 4000lbs. The new GTOs are redneck imports. I'd take an LS1 over a 06 GTO ANYDAY.

I'd take an 07 Cobra over any of them.

You should get a used C5 Vette. They run the same price as like a SRT-4 or some other things you were looking at and insurance isn't expensive on them. 300whp with PLENTY of aftermarket.

Are you saying that Pontiac is lying to us?

lol, all car companies "lie" when it comes to horsepower and torque. They usually show the horsepower and torque made at the crankshaft, not at the wheels. When you dyno a car, you are getting the real and felt horsepower and torque ratings.

Above most mentioned, I would take a '03 Cobra for under $20k easily. 390 horsepower TO THE WHEELS, now that isn't lieing.
