Hey peeps..
I want to by some paint online and wanted you opinions on what is the best/moderately priced paint you use.. I have both the j&j ceramic barrel and the CP one peice so if one paint works better with one paint over the other let me know!

I like Xball bronze. Relatively cheap from Actionvillage.

01-05-2006, 12:41 PM
Is it pretty good with both barrels? My local field has stingers and it's okay in the j&J but stinks in the cp.

Xball is kinda small so it should fit in both barrels, dependent on the size of the barrel. That's part of the thing, your paint CAN'T be bigger than your barrel, it'll break all the time. I prefer a bit looser fit - check for barrel to ball match, then go a size larger. No barrel breaks going that way.

you want Medium paint.....LOOK HERE (http://www.ottersccustoms.com/paintc.html)

I find that xball is really good. It's pretty consistant in roundness, it flies straight and it has bright colors and a thick fill. The only complaint I had was it was really too small for my All American. Once I got a kit, though, it was ok. But I still ALWAYS choose a barrel that's one to two sizes bigger. Accuracy isn't affected much, if any, and I NEVER have a barrel break. With eyes, no chops, so I don't end cleaning paint out of my gun.

I have the J&J and a CP 2 piece and X-Ball Bronze and Silver shoot fine. And they are pretty cheap.

I've used "Eliminator" paint and it actually works well as a rec paint. $42 SHIPPED with a no broken ball guarantee!

The shell is kind of weird - sort of like plastic. They seem to break on target though so who cares.

01-08-2006, 10:07 AM
i agree .. the x-balls are pretty good, but if your not trying to waste much money on paint .. you could always use ZAPS .. which are 30 bucks a case .. and have a good shell, and pretty thick paint.

ZAP are okay, but sometime the paintball bounce.

Is the X-balls is better than Zap, where could I find a great deal like the Eliminator?

01-16-2006, 09:01 PM
haha ... didn't he already link you ??
... haha i don't really use ZAP's that often .. i usually use scorched, nightmare, or some other paints ... i get discounts on paint .. so why not get premium :p

Draxxus Blaze is a nice quality paint.

02-06-2006, 08:49 AM
I use Zap spank they match my barrel at 0.689-0.690, and rarely have breaks, 32 dollars for 2000, they also make tournament level balls, cold weather balls and premiums, spank, torgue, etc check out there web site at www.zap.com

Draxxus Blaze is a nice quality paint.

thats wut i use. they are a little deformed out of the bag but shoot very nicely.

02-07-2006, 07:32 PM
hah yep, well GAP's as well as x-ball gold are very good paint :) ...

02-08-2006, 06:06 PM
I'm using Draxxus recsport, its good and round and has a diameter range of .687-.689, I also agree with zap as well they also make there premium paint in a decent price range, but if you buy of line look for good bulk deal 8000 paintballs or more, plus most fields have you use there paint, which helps them help us keep a place to stay cocked locked and ready to , well you know the rest.

i have J+J ceramic used bigball on my stock barrel would not work with J=J the Diablo Heat works great even in cold weather in New Jersey tried several others always had problems

I just picked up 2000 RPS Flash paintballs they worked great.. it was 34deg. out and I didn't get many breaks in my gun(around 4 or 5, just shot thought them) and the fill was easy to see and thick. I think its my new alternitive to premiums being they were only $30 for the case..

At paintballonline.com they have a good selection of paint. Most of their paint is fre shipping too. I know the that the cheapest paint they have is Monster Ball and you can get like 2000 for 29.99 and my friend uses these and they are pretty good. This site also has practice paint, or a mixed selection of paint that has some imperfections but is good for target practice or just messing around, you can get 2000 of these for 19.99

have a look on ebay i got 10000 ball for 95 toro ball they seem quite good and pack a sting

A good cheap paint is Zap DBX, $20 for 1000.

Never had one break in the gun, none were broken in the box.

The shell isn't too hard, but isnt too fragile, plus the fill is thick as he11.

xball bronze. ~40 for a case.

05-22-2006, 10:50 PM
J&J barrels are good. I have one myself on my Pilot. I love to use Zap Spank!! Its really cheep for the good tournament grade paint they give you!!

05-23-2006, 10:57 AM
Zap Spank aint tourney-grade at all LMFAO! Spank is cheap-as-dirt recball paint.

05-23-2006, 08:07 PM
Wow, WOw, WOOOW!! I beg to differ!! I think Zap is a very good grade paint and is deffinetly great to use more the just reck balls!! Theree great for tournaments as well!! I guess its all on oppinion!!

05-23-2006, 08:32 PM
I personally prefer better, Draxxus Hellfire paints in stuff like tournaments...especaially since it's a GUARANTEED BREAK on the opposing player, unlike ZAP, which you HAVE to overshoot other players with cuz the damned balls wont break. Just my personal preference, though. :)

05-23-2006, 08:36 PM
I love using GAP since I can get it locally for $30 to $35 a case:D Used Nelson Hemmoraghe not too long ago and I'm liking that bad thing was it's $45 a case...Zap and all the other stuff they carry at WalMart I stay away from, bad experiences with those...

05-24-2006, 02:41 AM
I was having great luck with PMI super swirl until recently. I got a bad box that are larger than normal and break in the barrel a lot. Monster balls work great with my J&J S2, good price. Sometimes at Gander Mt. I can find specials on Dusk or PMI Big balls; they work well also. Lastly, Diablo heat are a good buy for me here.
Paint/barrel match is everything but there's no comparison to good grade paint.

05-24-2006, 03:29 AM
eh ... if im out of money i'll either go down and get inferno's or heats for atound 30-40 a case ... if not i just buy it at the field ... RPM premiums ...

05-24-2006, 04:56 AM
xball bronze. ~40 for a case.

This man has hit the nail on the head.. It is on action village for 40 a case and if you order 2 or more cases, It is free shipping... I have ordered 5 or 6 cases of X-ball Bronze and it has never come broken or broke in my ION... It is great paint, and Procaps is an awesome brand.. They make Draxxus, Diablo, and X-ball... Shoots straight every shot and never is deformed or dimpled.. Awesome paint IMO...

05-24-2006, 09:49 AM
monster balls are decent. They smell bad though.
I use 'em when I'm on a budget.

Plus x-ball bronze is good too.

05-24-2006, 10:19 AM
I've used practice paint balls from www.xtremez.com and thy work like a charm with all spyders. How do I know?, you ask?

I owned all spyder gun types from pump to the E markers =P

The only gun yet is MR1 WHICH I want badly :p

Well practice paint and

'seconds paintball' from www.actionvillage.com are also good for just messing around with friends. No ball breakage what so ever, EXCEPT, contridictary, a few may be broken when you buy the box, sadly.
