Need your opinion. I'm buying a new guitar soon. Sometime this week actually, and I have narrowed it down to a few choices, but need some opinions on them and which one to get. Choices are...

http://www.music123.com/ESP-Viper-100FM-Electric-Guitar-i98148.music
270 dollars after coupon

http://www.music123.com/ESP-EC100QM-Electric-Guitar-i98313.music
same as above, 270

http://www.music123.com/Epiphone-Goth-Les-Paul-Studio-Electric-Guitar-i53882.music
290 after coupon.

Also, any other's?

EDIT: And yes, I realize I put it in NPT. This is because I need some opinions fast.

I've got an Epiphone Goth Les Paul and I absolutely love that guitar. You're getting a good deal at that price too, I paid $399 for mine.

Does yours have the stock pickups?

i'd say get the Viper because it has 24 frets (as opposed to the Goth's 22) and looks better than the EC 100). my friend got his Alexi-600 ESP in today finally (had to send the first one back because of a giant chip in the bottom) and that thing is super light and hes says it plays like a dream (way better than his Randy Rhoads 3). he says it was worth the $1,050 that his mom spent on it (his graduation present!) i,m probably gonna buy his Washburn off of him if i can get the money from my parents before he sells it.

I voted the Les Paul Goth... Why? Becasue it is the only one I know of.

UK, yeah I've got stock pickups. They've got a good sound to them, very warm classic "les paul' tone when played clean, but when you play with a heavy distortion they sound even better.

*Ninja edit cause i can't type*

haha funny how you guys advise to get one because you haven't heard of the other brand...wow...

anyway the two other guitars are LTD by ESP, they're the korean made version mostly made of Agathis wood.

all in all anyone of them is ok. just look for the one that you like. but remeber the LTD's will be lighter and the neck profile would be alittle flatter than the Epi. the sound would all be the same coz they all have crappy pick-ups. replace them immediately.

Epiphone, LTD, Cort, Ibanez (non-prestige models), Schecter...basically all guitars that are made in Korea are all made in the same factory.

I was not serious about it. That is why I posted so he would not take my advise.

The only other guitar I know of it the Fender Stratocaster, and that is because my Father-in-Law has one of the originals.

Dex, I was thinking about going a step lower and either getting the EC-50 or the viper 50 and get an EMG 81 for it. What's your opinion on this?

as far as i know getting EMG active pups...needs a little bit of woodwork since normal humbuckers are shorter compared to EMG's plus a little more effort putting in the needed electronics.

the easiest would just be to buy Seymour Duncans or Dimarzios as replacements.

BTW have you ever tried looking at schecters? the omen is a very good deal, had one once, before my wife broke it :(...great playability and no quality issues i'm going to get a Schecter C-1 plus in the next month

http://www.guitarcenter.com/shop/product/buy_schecter_omen_6_electric_guitar?full_sku=10155 8112

that's the link to the Schecter Omen.... and the good thing i the body is made of Basswood...instead of agathis.
