View Full Version : Braided Hose Problem

07-13-2006, 02:46 PM
Okay, I can't get anymore frustrated so I have to bother someone for some help! I have a 2006 Spyder Electra and I bought a NDZ on/off and a medium drop for it. The problem I am having is that I bought a new stainless hose to put on, but I don't know how or who can put the "swivel end" on the hose to connect it to the regulator (90* fitting). Nobody in town has a clue and I keep getting told that I have to get the line / fitting from wherever I got my marker. I am ready just to change over to macroline and be done with it! I hope this makes sense, if not I can submit pictures too.

THANKS IN ADVANCE to anyone who replies!

Wow, my first post! I am on my way!! :D

if its a 90 degree fitting it wont fit, u need macroline.

a guy on here, HobbyHorse, sells some cheap, and its good stuff, id suggest to talk to him.

do u run it on CO2 or HPA?

I run it on HPA. The closest shop, 45 minutes away, said I could use a single 90* elbow. Without thinking I just bought it and headed home. About 20 minutes away, I realized it wouldn't work either because once one end is in, you can't spin the other end! I felt like an idiot! I didn't want to do macro, but I guess I don't have a choice huh?!

There are male and femal adapters around. Where? I have no idea but I've seen people post links. Does the line come out the side or bottom of the reg? Pics would be nice -

I've done searches and I keep getting frustrated. I like tinkering and I wanted to do this on my own! :(

As for where the line comes from: it comes out of the side of the reg. If you look at the pic, it comes out to the right of the trigger guard by the 90* fitting. I can take more pictures if that would help... Thanks again for your help everyone!

Yeah I know what your talking about. My Fenix has the exact same set up. But I've heard that alot of people prefer macroline if your using HPA.

macroline is alot easier to use, and i like it more that the steel hose

colors ftw

ok. You need a female/female adapter for the 90* on the reg.
screw the hose into it, and then onto the 90* on the reg.

remove the asa.

screw the hose into the asa

reattach the asa rto the grip

If you do switch to macroline, make sure you have extra. It does break sometimes and it would suck not to have extra with you if it broke out on the field. Macro is cheap about a $1 per foot. Hobbyhorse sells it here.

is the s/s line standard or metric threaded? You need to know before ordering. The first link is the good one but the others are 'back-ups'
