Upgrade Suggestions please

I got my first marker last week, a Spyder Xtra obviously, and from what I've read, the first upgrades I should make are the barrel and neck. I'm going to post links for the 2 I've been looking at, and any feed back or alternate suggestions would be welcome. Also, I see lots of talk about a regulator. So do I just need a regulator, and screw my co2 tank into it? And if its that simple, maybe recommend a regulator that would be good for my gun/ match the guns color?

I ended up getting a smart parts 14 inch linear today. Got sodomized on the price, but oh well, ya live, ya learn. Still would like some recomendations for a feed neck though.


*edit* I'm not as satisfied with the black on blue as I thought I would be. Can anyone suggest a good barrel preferably under 40$ that would match the blue of the gun?

I am no expert but from my experience, I would first start with a compressed air tank. They start at 50 and go up too 200. The differences between them are size and weight. The aircraft aluminum is less money but weighs about twice as much (about 2 pounds) the bigger the tank the more shoots. I bought a 74 CI 3000 PSI for about 50 dollars and that made more difference than the barrel I bought a 14” CP 1 piece. The Barrel did give me a little longer shoot but not much. if you have the money I would go with a barrel kit like the Odyssey 3 piece, because you do not get the same size and quality of balls so the defferant barrel sizes helps. After you do that I would go with New Valve and regulator. Then I would get a new Bolt, and to finish it of New trigger frame. As is the gun is good enough to play with, it is very accurate you just are not going to get the consistence and speed until you up grade, but I would start with a HP tank
