Here’s mine... I have after market spring sets for it, I've also got different barrels from 8" to 20" and everywhere in between, That’s a 20" on it in the pic, it also has a tack light, Red dot scope, and a laser pointer sight, oh and the Bi pod, Decked out for scenario games. Instead of taking off my shroud of the MR2, I just milled the barrel down to fit, a little quirk to being in the air Force, and having friends in the local shops.

Looks impressive! What brand are the barrels?

breakxeggs

They look like they are either Tear Drop or Proggressive. But what I would like to ask is doesn't your laser get in the way of your scope?

how did you get your lite to fit under the gun???

Gotcha
07-08-2006, 08:49 AM
Sorry it took me so long to get back with everyone, Military fun... Anyway, The barrels are smat parts, the 20" Liniar ported, riffled. and then I got a couple others that I milled down. The Laser is in the way of the Scope, I'm gonna get a riser for it, but it's not that much in the way. As for the light on the bottom, thats custom milling right there. Because it's a square block underneith, I just milled it down into a weaver style mount. just like on top. you can actually do it with a dremal tool if your carefull enough.

The grips looks way more cool in this pic than the grips threat! Nice work but are they comfy to use in the field?

the bipod i got off of ebay for $24, it was slightly used but in great shape. I haven't been out running around with it yet, but I can get a better grip on it than with the old ones.

I bought the ak-47 expansion chamber off a site but it's back-ordered so I'm kinda bummed

So here's the good stuff. Total mods and upgrades include:Trinity 6-Stage Expansion Chamber, CMI 16" TruFlight QB Barrel, CMI Remote Coil [CO2], Barrel Bi-Pod, JCS Folding Stock, Tasco RedDot Scope, a generic riser rail, and my wooden grips. I think that about does it, or more or less, I'm done spending money, lol.

Can you confirm that the Dye Stickies actually fit?

And what is on your gun, right above the velocity adjuster? The back-cap, what did you use it from?

HavaBrew22
07-28-2006, 09:48 AM
They will fit but it takes some work, I had to cut them down and sand them to fit perfect. Thats the Dye Black Spyder Sticky Grips in the picture if you don't believe me. It's not easy but with work yes they will fit. I used pliers to cut them to the exact size then a metal file and 100 grit sandpaper to get them perfect. The cord hanging from the back is the elastic band from my Dye barrel cover.

Sorry Everyone, It's been a while, but I have a friend one here He is also a spyder owner, a very proud owner, but I have to admit I sold out, I moved to a tippman, hence why I haven't been posting in here. Sorry everyone, but I've owned both Ford and Chevy, I'm a Ford guy, well Nissan too, just got a Titan, Anyway. I can say the same for Paintball, I've owned both, Kingman, and Tippmann. and well I'm a Tippmann guy now. Out the box my MR2 couldn't match my A5. I may own another MR2 in the future but not anytime soon. My friend on here said that this message topic was getting kinda long so I figured I would check in an explain myself. I think I've done that. Anyway enough of me. as far as my old MR2, I didn't really use the Sight, it was more for looks. It's hard to sight in a paintball when their are too many variables. Paint fill, paint weight, thickness, Air pressure, wind, barrel characteristicks, and so on. It was more for looks, I ended up selling it on ebay, I tried posting a link on her to see if anyone wantted it first before I let it go on Ebay. but no one wantted it. that and I got a nasty gram from the forum, telling me that I can't post Ebay links and all. I sold it for $400.00 to some guy in France. Oh well. I bid you all farewell, and keep on paint'n.....

hahahaha u rnt gonna belive me wylde but the thing that the qloader is mounted to is actually a socket. The guy that had it b4 me drilled a hole through the front handle of the gun and but a screw in the top and put a nut with some washers inside the handle and tightend it up till it was sturdy then he just mounted the qloader to it. Isn't that crazy, i never thought of doing that.

Well my brother and I arent quite done with it yet, he is going to machine a weaver rail on the bottom, as for weight its not to bad actually but, we are talking about making it out of some lighter aluminum, as for making a few more that is possible, once we get every thing all worked out, the overall length of the shroud is 7" / 5" over the stock piece. Once we get the final product I will let everyone know, I dont want to get the draggon spooled up on another product not to come through so I wont say we can make it happen, since my brother and I are active duty military and have lots of additional duties to attend to as well as family, but like I said once we get it all worked out I will let you guys know.

hey Nuwisha, what do you have your qloader mounted to in that pic

Nuwisha
03-15-2007, 07:57 PM
...a socket...but don't try it... can't get it to stay tight. The hardened steel of the socket won't bite into the lock washer i had and i just ended up stripping the threads in the shroud.... Whoops. But I got a new barrel today so I'm back to mounting it on the reg.

see:http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-10/1221131/DSCF9983.JPG

I might try to mill a bar and screw it to both the screw holes on the bottom, and then make a slotted mount to attach to it so it won't spin.....or not, I'll see how it goes.

yod3r
03-15-2007, 09:19 PM
i had mine mounted on a socket attached to the handguard but i took it off becuase i couldnt hold on to the handgaurd. Rails on either side and on the bottom of the shroud. If you sell the shrouds off, it's still easy enough to put them on yourself... but I think it would look cool.

There is another guy on here thats making a G36 that could probably use that shroud.

Benni, that is one SICK MR2. Reminds me of an AG-96 in a way... All you need is a stock similar to a AK-47 and your all set. (For those that don't know, the AG is a modern AK that is lighter, quieter, and faster... it shoots the same rounds.)

Thanks for your feedbacks :)
it's an UMP kit for A5, with some adaptations, it fits quite well the MR2.

This is my MR2, got it about 2 months ago.
Setup:
-Tasco 3x-7x (:) Pretty Accurate!!)
-Viewloader 12v Revolution w/Xboard (10-12bps)
-Stock barrel with face suppressor made with PVC Pipe and Electrical Tape (Covers holes at end and increases sound and prevents CO2 from escaping)
-Sanded Buttstock (to allow me to see down scope with mask on)

Hey Benni_B,

Awesome setup - it looks like an AKS-74U right now so I really think you can save your money and stop at this point. Unless of course you're going for a folding stock to really look like an AKS.

the front hole on the shroud is about a millimeter smaller than the front of the J&J ceramic barrel. So I had to dremel it out.

The back hols of the J&J ceramic barrel is too big on the back so I had to use two pieces of copper piping to build it up.

My Custom Trigger for my MR2 PART II

after my Custom trigger PART I (http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=2353754) failure i was left again with a trigger broken in half. So again i was looking for an inexpensive way for a new trigger. And well i finally found an inexpensive trigger for my mr2. I can make 20 triggers from the $5 material its made from.

Custom Trigger Part I (http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=2353754)

I made 2 triggers one wave style and the other sick style. The wave is currently on my MR2.

Alright yeah I will see if I can get a larger pic on but my camra I think is to high of mega pixel because i can only seem to put the tiny pictures on, anything bigger tells me it exceds limit.

465

ok hope its a little better...

List of what is on this setup...

Apex tip mounted on a 14" progressive barrel via underground mod adapter. (The barrel had to be milled down to fit under the shroud)

BT M4 Carbin barrel shroud with a 3 peice CNL guarder Picatinny rail set that covers the langth of the shroud. (I had to mod those on to)
On the shroud I have 2 flashlights (One that is on a pressure switch and one that is push button, I do use them both for urban assault games at dusk or night.)
I have 2 laser sights one set at 100 ft(for this I usually have a 4X40 bushnell spoting scope on the rail to, its not in the picture (woodsball)) the other is set at 20ft(CQ combat, urban) I do use these both too, not just needless weight.
(I also want to get a forgrip that when you push a button a bi-pod comes out of it.)
The Evo III is in this pic with a lazy custom camo job. (I usually use my Halo B with Rip and V35 though, but I still like the Evo's)

Then I have a Walther 11 power red dot sight mounted to Walther rail kit that I mounted to the original mock carry handel buy moding it.

Think thats about all thats in this pic...

I have variouse setups for my MR 2 and love them all!

This winter I want to do the internal uprades that I got from you and also add a Scepter 4000 grenade launcher.

This one is picture is pretty blury but it was my first sniping set up when i just got my MR 2

466

I Have alot of ghullie wrap on there but underneith it all is Evo II w/Y, Daisy red dot sight, Progressive barrel 14", Tripod, Walther tactical flashlight on pressure switch for those latter dusk games and urban assaults at night. Laser sight for CQ combat at night. (my team also used the lasers as comunication in the dark to tell if the forces coming through were friendly or not)

Whats that sighting rig on the back of your rail?

and can you really wear that helmet with a mask?

The sight rig is just a raised sight rail from Opsgear
http://www.opsgear.com/Picatinny-Scope-or-Sight-Mount-p/og-mount-scope-sight.htm
- one thing to note, its probably cheaper to get that rig from EVERYWHERE ELSE but Opsgear.
I think I've seen the same thing going for half the price on RAP paintball or some other Airsoft retailers. You can get a longer rail from Marstar.ca if you need to.

The rear diopter sight is a HK416 sight set (comes with the front post) from an airsoft store.
http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?itm=HE-ACC-M1627_cat_Sights
I havent' tried if it works in this config but if anything it would make me lob balls instead of shoot straight at the target.

And yeah you can wear a helmet if you use the right masks. I'm only certain of the JT X-Fire but I think the PRoto/dye masks without the sunvisor could work too.

No M4 stock for me for now.

slim and shady
10-09-2007, 09:02 AM
Yeah I had to get my friend to mill it to fit under the barrel shroud, but this can just as esily be done at home, all you need is a large drill bit and place a peice of PVc overtop that your barrel still fits over and put a few wraps of hockytape on so it grips it better. Then just get a good file old the trigger on the drill down to articulate it and hold the file were you want it taken down. THIS GOES QUICKLY so be carefull not to take to much. I did it to a barrel for my friends MR3.

slim and shady
10-09-2007, 09:33 AM
Well this has little to do with the MR 2 but I guess I use it as one of the many small arms weapons that can be shot out of our APC. We are currenntly attempting to convert another one into a Tank.

This APC holds 5 gunners and a driver there are 2 sniping ports on the front, 3 on each side and 3 on the back. There are also large flaps that can be lifted for better visability than plexyglass windows and also alows the use of larger weapons like launchers.
We also have a DOS(Driver optical system) in the APC so even if the windows are full of paint the driver can still operate the APC safly with 360 degree vision VIA realtime video feed to a 4 X 6 monitor.

Oh yeah its a blast, it can go anywere water included, and I dont mean a puddle more like a lake. It works great in battle to you can litterly drive groups of 5 and drop them behind enemy lines. This works best if you can have a couple APC going though.

Ok more of the MR 2

Its a MOLLE type modular vest. I got it on the cheap from SORD Australia.
http://www.sordaustralia.com/SORD/index.php?t=1&c=14&p=757
The pouches are from Opsgear.

I remember using JT X-fire masks for a similar pro tech helmet - those ones you see Delta wearing. They did fit quite well as far as I remember. But its just in the picture for fun.

Chnk: no mod is too ghetto as long as it works.

The Apex works the same on a stubby barrel i always used to put it on mine and it looked exactly like that, worked great. But i had to send it back for work, now its lost in the mail and I am having a heck of a time getting the insurance to pay me back so i can buy a new one.

what's the difference from this style of trigger than the stock one? pmg me plz

well upgrade triggers are more for speedball player that have the need to walk the trigger to acheive high rates of fire using semi only, i'm a speedball player myself so i felt it was neccessary,

the difference between the stock and new one is all preference and how you shoot the maker, how you hold it etc, personally i'm not fond of that style but everyone has their own style for triggers

Yeah just get your hands on some water repelent foam sheets (Like the ones found in the bottom drawrs of tool box's tp prevent the tools from scratching the paint) trace out your grips and cut them out, put them in and your fine. I use my MR2 in the rain all the time, I also use Dye invision turbine fan, Halo B with rip and V-35, Gps/radio (These are wicked if you have a small team playing in a scenario game) , laser sights, red dot sights ect never had trouble with any of my electronic equiptment not even in a downpoor.

@ Slim, when you take a pic so close, you need to switch to "macro" mode. Usually you have to play with the dials until the little flower icon shows up. Depending on the macro distance of your camera (every make is different) go closer and "half shutter" (depress the shutter button halfway) to let the camera autofocus to its trick. When the autofocus is done - takes less than a second - snap away. Easier when done with a tripod of course.

I think the idea is well illustrated. If I can find any I'd give it a shot myself, but I really don't like playing in the rain :D

@ El Mago - I'll have to try that myself sometime, I'm sure I can get some badly ripped BDU pants for free from someone.

I agree but hasnt been a problem and i have played soggy alot. to be honest i dont think you could cover it......unless..... you had a real light peice of rubber like an old bike tire tube, or lighter like a tube (that you pull behing a ski boat, or motor boat) but it would have to be real strechy so that it didnt impair the trigger hitting the switch and you could still feel and be abel to move your switch and change modes. wrap the handel in that. I might just try that now.... but covering that switch probably wont work that well. I dunno just have to try I guess.

Just a question, did anyone experiment with latex/silicone surgical gloves - or condoms? I mean you could probably cut out a piece of the material, slip it underneath the trigger and tape it somewhere under the grip. That'd probably give it some protection while being elastic enough to allow the trigger to work. I've never done it of course, I make it a point to keep out of the rain :D

ViperX

Easy waterproof option to cover your board and switch:

Use a balloon, any color you want, if your super stealthy and don't care about seeing the mode LED, use a black one, plenty around since halloween just passed. Just unscrew the two screws that secure the board, slip the balloon over the elctronics allowing for the wires to stick out the neck of the balloon, place it back into position and pierce the balloon with the screw as you screw it back in. The balloon will stick over the switch and it will cover the charge port, you could cut the balloon there if you really needed too, but this will work for those games when you expect to have some rain, etc. might not be practical for all time use, but it is an option.

Just use a small tie wrap to close up the neck of the balloon around the wires.

I carry a couple extra balloons in my parts box just for this reason.

Just a dremel tool with a cutting disk on it. Cuts it really easily. The only problem you have is that it does it a little too easy, it will melt the plastic even on the lowest setting. So you have to take it really slow and flake off the melted edge it leaves with your finger. You then sand it down with some fine sand paper to bevel off the edges.

I also experimented with cutting some 'coolness' slits into it, but they looked stupid. I filled that in with automotive bodywork bondo. it sticks really well to the plastic so if you make a mistake you can always repair it.

BTW dont use a powered sander! even the dremel tool, you will just make a big melted mess!

I cut the stock butt stock to make my gun strap rig. Its the same plastic, very hard but low melting temp. Its very easy to stand nice and smooth however if you do it by hand. Not sure how you plan to cut it, but if you do it really close to the gun that part has metal in it (for the screw fitting). It goes out of the gun about 1/2in into the plastic exterior.

or use a fine sand paper and sand it lightly to remove the gloss OR rubberise it. They sell this spray at hardware stores that you can spray tool handles to give them a rubber grip. Its in balck and looks great ! I would spray it OVER what you have.

What mods did you have to do to make that shroud fit? It looks awesome!

The perpose of it is changing my marker, something to do and doesnt cost money.
No it doesnt make my gun any bulkyer then it was before. Also i was looking for a big bulky intimidating look.

what parts would fall off? you dont glue it to your marker everything is held on the same was stock parts are held on.

Has anyone had any luck with the wooden stocks or forgrips that they were trying to make?

Here is a pic of my shroud my brother machined for me about six months or so ago, we are gonna redo it after the holidays, this time I am gonna send him the gun to also machine channels for the eye wires, I already have the gun drilled for eyes. I also drew up plans for a custom stock that will be made out of tubing, when I get home I will scan the drawing for all to see. I think he did a good job since he never saw the gun and I just gave him measurements!
