View Full Version : Ridiculously Trucks

Hey guys. I just got back from a 2-week "business trip" to Florida last night. As I was going through all the pics on my digital camera this morning, I came across these ridiculously huge trucks I saw during my travels. I know there are some gearheads and truck fans here so I thought I'd share.

The first is a Chevrolet 4500 seen in the "oversized vehicles" parking lot at the Orlando airport. When I first saw the front end, I thought it was an International CXT but upon closer inspection I realized it was a Chevy. The second pic shows the 4500 in relation to the Ford F250 HD it was parked next to. Simply huge.

This next one is a Ford F650 (I didn't know they went higher than 350), seen driving through downtown Tampa one rainy afternoon. It came up beside our van and I thought we were being passed by a pimped out schoolbus. Again, in the second pic you can see this beast in relation to one of our 15-passenger vans as it drove past. Its a little ahead of the van but still obviously huge by comparison.

Now don't get me wrong... I love big trucks. But these are a bit over the edge, even by my standards.

My friends brother owns a ford that resembles the chevy, but he actually uses it to haul around a excavator.

That's a little much, but maybe they have wrecker hooks at home that they hook up when they get the call that someone slid into a ditch. But probably not.

I've seen a few of those around here. Most of them were bought for business purposes, but you do get the rednecks that just want a big truck. ;)

LOL Nice met.....
Trucks should be fo work and work only... casue they cant haul but two - three people... and they cant race very well unless it is a smaller design.

An SVT Lightning can race, but they aren't making one this year. Instead, another company is making the Thunder, or so I read in a magazine. I can't for the life of me think who is doing it either.

yeah theyve made f-450 and 550 for years now though ive never seen a 650. anyways their usually bought for construction purposes or wrecker service or something so they almost always have a flatbed or dumpbed or something on them. ive never seen one with a normal truckbed before. still i couldnt see owning one, i drive a 1500 silverado extended cab. still relatively small as far as trucks go these days. the mileage aint too bad but i cannot park that thing anywhere around here, all the damn compact lots on base, i cant imagine trying to park one of those things in the pics.

as for the thunder, if you hear anything keep me updated. i know rousch has made an aftermarket version of the f-150 since the lightning went away a few years ago. but i dont know if its the same thing since ive never heard of a thunder. In any case im getting a ford next cuz chevy is pissing me off with their service lately so who knows if the thunder is good and affordable enough i might consider one.

thats just insane...my dads truck isnt even close to that... i know how the drivers feel though, we have one of the biggest trucks in the area (probably the one with the most money put into it too...)
