Hey is anyone on this board in Oklahoma??

06-30-2006, 12:53 PM
Me, Chris Cole, KATT, Justin, and theChubbs all are from Oklahoma. I think there are a couple more, but they're slipping my mind right now.

Where ya from???

06-30-2006, 01:02 PM
I have two houses. One in Sand Springs and one in Catoosa. What about you?

06-30-2006, 01:15 PM
All the way on the other side of the state - Woodward. The other guys all live around the City.

06-30-2006, 01:19 PM
To far away. Have you ever been to Manford?

06-30-2006, 01:26 PM
Everything is far away from me! I've been known to travel 3+ hours one way to play a couple hours of paintball just to get something different. Played a tournament at PSI in Tulsa back before they closed about a year and a half ago (KOPS tournament). That was a 4+ hour trip for me....

Nope, never to Manford. Is that close to Sand Springs?

06-30-2006, 01:50 PM
Bahh i have never herd of any of those places... besides woodward.

Yea i am from okla me and Chriscole rocking the OKC region...

06-30-2006, 02:06 PM
You've never heard of Sand Springs? To the west of Tulsa - got a veryyyyyy nice lake there...

07-01-2006, 11:41 AM
have you been to oklahoma d-day? that has been my dream vacation since i read my first issue of APG magazine!

07-01-2006, 12:15 PM
Yea biggest scenario event.... its the World Cup or Scenario ball....

Never been not sure i want to go... just not my style

My wife will be in Catoosa Monday, so I've definitely heard of it. :D

07-01-2006, 06:56 PM
I've thought of playing at the D-Day thing, just to see what it's like. 3000 screaming players with thousands of balls flying through the air at the same time would be sort of awesome!

Unfortunately, I haven't made it yet, but plan on it next year.

we'll go next year and split a room someplace if you want Vike. I'm too old to sleep on the ground and then go get shot at.

07-01-2006, 07:56 PM
Dang - that sounds decent. My idea of camping anymore is only having 2 pillows on the hotel bed instead of 4!

07-02-2006, 06:01 AM

Nice vike.... Guess your not one for the great outdoors LOL...

07-02-2006, 06:13 AM
Not anymore. Used to camp a bit and fish and stuff, but now the ol' body just doesn't handle it as well anymore.

07-05-2006, 05:05 PM
I might be going to D-Day next year. My brother and I are in the middle of starting a team right now. Thats why we couldn't go this year.

07-06-2006, 06:16 AM
About to start a team? have you played in any torneys? maybe just with some friends?

Im only asking becasue there is a team that plays local torneys at Wild West and they have a girl who is actuly pretty good....

07-06-2006, 09:10 AM
I will chime in as well being from the OKC area. It would be interesting to have all of the Okies in one spot. If something were to get planned for next year now would be the time to start.

07-06-2006, 09:14 AM
Hey, Frat, do I know you? I think I do! Are you Nate?

If not, sorry about that!

07-06-2006, 09:45 PM
No Vike. You came out to N5 a few weeks back but we did not meet.

07-07-2006, 06:05 AM
Damn - forgot all about that. Must be old age! Hell, didn't I already ask you that?

07-07-2006, 06:54 AM
LOL Its cool Vike... we all know you past the hill.... im sure he wotn take any offence...

07-07-2006, 08:06 PM
Well my brother and I have been talking about starting up a team for a couple years now and have never got around to it.

Is there a limit on how many people you can have on a team?

07-07-2006, 08:18 PM
Depends on what you're playing. Most tournament formats around Oklahoma are 3 man or 5 man - some play Xball, but I think it's mainly the 5 man lite kind. Usually, a tournament team can have anywhere from 5 players up to 100, but only 5 (or 3, or 7, or 10) can be on the field at one time. I made sure my teams never had more than 6 players. If we got higher than that (we had 12 once) I made them into a separate entity.

Not sure about scenario teams.

07-07-2006, 08:54 PM
6 players FTW... that way you can be sure that if you have a torney on that day and someone has a vacation planned (i would ditch the vacation to play paintball) and they are not as serious as me then you would not be left in the crapper casue you are out a player.

07-09-2006, 11:25 AM
Well if we make a team we will have about 7 people.

07-10-2006, 07:51 AM
Awesome... i can tell you Wild West will be hosting a torney in August... so if you have a team together around them just PM and i can put in your registration.... I will have a team there just cause i started a all noob team and they need some torney experiance...

07-10-2006, 09:17 AM
We wont have it togather by then. We want to wait till we can get matching jerserys and we also want matching hats. The hats were my idea because I never play pb without a hat.

01-25-2007, 10:17 PM
Alright, I 'll ring in. I'm from OKC... My 12 year old son got me into the sport. We've been watching some local teams and have thought of putting together a small team of our own. Nothing too serious... OK D-Day sounds awesome.

01-26-2007, 04:30 AM
Welcome! Glad to see another parent in here from Oklahoma. My oldest is 14 years now....

Not from OKC, but I've played with/against quite a few of them down there.

06-11-2007, 07:32 PM
hey did anyone else go to oklahoma dday this year?

06-11-2007, 08:06 PM
Shucks - I forgot all about it. Back in March, I was really considering going...

06-13-2007, 12:19 PM
man it was a blast. especially the storm that hit us thursday night!

06-13-2007, 01:05 PM
Hehehe, Oklahoma's been getting it's fair share of rain/storms this year! Not complaining though...Did you camp out there? If you did, I bet that storm was fun...

06-27-2007, 08:56 PM
yea i camped out there. getting up every couple of hours to check if everything was still up was a real pain.

10-21-2007, 12:28 PM
man is there no action in oklahoma anymore?? LOL. i played yesterday with about 7 others out on some private land. it was a blast and was the first time since june that ive gotten to play..........I SUCKED!!

10-21-2007, 01:17 PM
I think you're right. It's getting harder and harder to play here anymore. Seems that once school starts up, and OU football, the players just don't come out and play. I was just talking about this with the team a couple weeks ago - if it weren't for practice, we'd never get any playing time in.

That is, unless you want to risk showing up out at Choctaw...

11-24-2007, 05:33 PM
man now that the winter is starting to kick in and my family in the process of moving it looks like i wont get the gear out to a field untill april or may.

11-24-2007, 06:49 PM
We had a Texas Storm clinic today and tomorrow at our field. (Public one today, team clinic tomorrow.) It was work, but man was it fun! Got to work on some form and whatnot, and realized just how much of a performance gap there is between the level our team plays (at the moment) and a semi-pro player. In snap shooting alone the difference wss staggering.

But, that's ok - we're going to work a lot harder and we'll be ready for that national event by the end of next season - especially now that we know what we need to do.

02-15-2008, 03:08 PM
hey whats going on in OK now days??? i really want to get out and play again just never have the time. what about everyone else?

02-15-2008, 04:33 PM
Tourney season about to start again. Got a tournament in March, and another Texas Storm clinic as well. Pretty cheap, if I say so myself so if you want, you should try coming up!

Probably nothing coming up this weekend as it's supposed to be stormy and nasty cold all weekend...
