View Full Version : Powder coating my Ion frame

I have decided I'm going to have the stock frame powder coated to better match my stage 5. It's getting faded - Dusted red/black to match it. The body's anno scheme is Dusted Black front faded to Dusted Red back. Should I PC the frame in the same manner or reverse the colors (Frame-Red front to Black back)?

here are pics to help visualize it.....

hmmmm...i'd probably reverse it... but that's just me :D
too much red in one area just looks bad 2 me.
scattered about makes it look all pretty n' such :)
red front, black rear.

I would go the same as the body. I think it would flow better..

Why not get it annoed? I think it would last a little longer than being powder coating.. You can get matte finish annodizing also..

Have it be the same colors, except black back, and red front....Like bizzaro twins.

shadow...because I can get it done for $25

Anno single parts at PrecisionPB.com = $7.50, probably a little more for a fade.

Anno > Powdercoat

Edit: Its actually gonna be like $20. Medium sized parts are $16 for a single color, so I'd estimate $20 for a fade. Rick does awesome work and is a great guy. Get a quote from him before you decide Powdercoat is cheaper. Anno will always be better and look better, so if it costs a few more dollars, spend it.

Would a body be considered a large part?

Yes. Whats larger than a body on a gun?

i think that the reverse look would be sweet, and as ric said, can't have too much red

Match the Body, it will look much better then going opposite of it.

I'm going with match the body, with matte anno, and get the outside of the cp reg done at the same time, it would look even better.
