Actionvillage has Halo B's with Rip Drive and The V35 boards for only 140.. Also it seems that they have a new magnetic lid..

Has anyone ever used this Magnetic lid on any of their Halos?? How does it work? You have to look close and click the zoom button to see the Magnets, but it looks like a neat design..

Thoughts?

I think it's about time the manufactures started using magnets to close the lids. I modded my Zeggy with magnets almost as soon as I got the new shells for it (well, also was partly because I had to lol!), and I love it. Makes it so easy to close.

I think the $140 is a good price for it, especially when having all colors at that price as well. It's tempting me to get one.

Heh looks like teh same setup as my halo... Minus the Magnets....

Good deal right there... they are trying to compete with empire coming out with a good board already installed instead of a O.K board.

The TSA frontman/backman has magnets, and my god, it SOOOOO much easier than spring loaded lids. You flip it open and it stas open, but you can close it easily and it stays closed.

how do the mags hold up during rough dives?

Depends on how many you have. I put two on my hopper and it won't open unless I do it myself. They're on there pretty good. Hob, does it have two sets of magnets, one to hold it open and one to keep it shut?

My guess is it still uses the spring for keeping the lid open, the magnets are just to keep it shut.

the earth magnets from radioshack dont want to move at all, if you do 2-4 packs of them (there is one for the lid and one for the shell in each pack) there is no way it will move unless you make it.

The only problem is those magnets are like $3 a pack. I put 2 packs on, and it works fine... no need for 4 lmfao!

Yeah they have em to hold it open and to keep it closed, no spring at all.

they cant do both unless they are electro mags or theres another on the top, my bet is there is still a spring.

ya i lost my spring to my B, so i need some ideas on how to keep it open cuz reloading is a pain in the ass.

This is why Egg's rock. ;) People like me lose those damned springs, and it doesn't matter. :D

Claus, it has a magnet holding it open... Not electro-magnets, normal ones. They attract each other when the hopper's open fully, and when the hopper is closed they are far enough apart that they have no connection. If you still don't understand.... Hob, can you get a picture or two of how it works?

Here we go image one is of the two mags that hold it open, image two is the mags that keep it shut.

I tried to get it to close by shaking the hopper violently while it was open, but I couldn't get it to move, the mags hold well but its still easy to open and close the lid.

So it does use them to hold it open too, I'll have to stop by Radio Shack and do that mod to my Halo.

Thanks for the pictures, Hob. :) I'm thinking if I ever upgrade or downgrade to a hopper like a Reloader or Reloader B, I'll do this mod to it.... So simple, yet it's so worth it.

I used some bigger mags that I found at a hobby store for mine, they are still rare earth and flat but are about double the size of the Rat Shack ones, if you can find some bigger ones I would suggest it, I like mine they work great it holds the lid open real well and the ones holding it shut also hold it shut real well. Mags FTW.

Yes, we know. It shows what also is on the Halo B now.

I'll have to look around for those magnets, Matt. I have the 1/8" Rare Earths on mine.

Tim, you've talked about your magnet'ed egg, but you need to get some picatures, may like to do the same with mine.

This may not be important but I have a Empire ReLoader with magnets. The plastic that surrounds the "close" magnets broke. I think it came from shutting it too fast or hard. That's the only problem I have with mine.

So, be weary of slamming the lid shut.
