After 6 months of rehabbing my knee, I was finally able to play again today, and it was awesome. I'm still not 100 percent, so I arranged to start on the field and wait a split second before I started shooting.

Due to a local player moving away, the field was full of an obscene amount of talent. I invited our own VikingShadow out to join in the festivities and he also played decently in spite of some rustiness of his own. (A much smaller amount of rust than mine for sure.)

I learned that my gun skills are still decent but lack of mobility just sucks. I shot vike in game and to end the day he gogged me in a one-on-one.

After being gone for so long, I have a new outlook on the game that I will be formalizing sometime soon for everyone's reading pleasure.

Thanks for coming out Vike, it was freaking awesome.

I sure could tell it'd been a few months since I played anything resembling that level of play. I haven't played speedball against a group since February, and nothing like yesterday since last July in the TAP tournament! Needless to say, I'm pretty sore today. My kids counted 14 welts on me and those are the ones they could see, LOL! I can certainly tell I'm getting old.... I'm beginning to rethink that "Is armor for wimps?" thread, hahaha!

By the way, Chris, the neck shot isn't nearly as sore as we thought it'd be! The story - some guy (sorry, don't remember his name, although I wonder if it was actually him) yesterday was using ROCK HARD PAINT - no lie - and one caught me right on the throat and the ball stuck inside my collar....good times! In fact, in a couple of games, Chris and I called ourselves out because we just knew as many times we got hit that something broke, but upon inspection - nothing. Xball - gotta love it!

Thanks for the invite. I had a blast!

One of those bouncers left a bruise, that's a new one on me. Chubbs, we'll definitely ball it up at some point, but I'm done for at least a month at this point, the knee is mostly back, just not quite.

I wish I would have thought of a way to meet you guys. Ann and Billy have some good plans for the field and once the dust settles (they just took over in March) I think they will make a great field even better.

I've had both shoulders put back together. That's a rough one. Good luck.

Alas, no pics.
