Hey guys, I'm new to paintball, and I'd like to know what you MR2 owners suggest (excluding the detents) for an upgrade on the MR2?

Barrel? Regulator? Any other ideas? Thanks.

*****UPDATE******* short list fo what I'm planning on so far

Hopper-Odyssey Halo TSA Backman LCD Hopper --------13-15BPS capability

Barrel-J & J Performance Ceramic Barrel 12”

Tank-20oz Aluminum CO2 Tank With Pin Valve

Please don't suggest expansion chamber, ain't gonna happen.

1. A J&J Barrel 12-14 inch. good barrel and it's cheap.

But if you got some cash to burn I would get the Apex Barrel. I got one and D4mn it is awesome. Great range-and goes where I want it to go.

2. Nitro.

3. Hopper I use a revy and it does alright, Maybe a Egg will do better though

The only thing I have done to my MR2 was 1. Apex 2 Nitro and right now the gun kicks arse.

Yes I've been considering the J&J Ceramic and/or Nitro as upgrades, I'm not totally sure yet.

I don't think there are currently any feednecks for the MR2, just the lousy stock one.

I just intalled the 14" J&J yesterday, have yet to test it out though. I'm also going to pick up an HPA tank this Friday. I'll let you guys know how it goes after this weekend.

So far though, I've just changed out the detent, made sure she was nice and oiled, and made sure the bolt was broken in before I went out to play with it last weekend. It worked very well (not one chop), but the CO2 caused the velocity to really drop off after a few games.

My MR2 thus far...
1) J&J 14"
2) Empire Reloader B (Fed the pb's flawlessly)
3) Changed the Detent
4) HPA (coming in a few days)

I think this set-up will work nicely.

I'd say wait until you actually play with it before asking any questions on upgrades. You might actually like it the way it is from the box. Just lube it according to it's maintenence requirements prior to it's first game

also i have found the progressive rifled barrel by smart parts a good barrel for the gun you just need to take off the shroud which takes 5-10 minutes and the gun looks not half bad in my opinion

Here's a short list of what I'm planning to get:

Hopper-Odyssey Halo TSA Backman LCD Hopper --------13-15BPS capability

Barrel-J & J Performance Ceramic Barrel 12”

Tank-20oz Aluminum CO2 Tank With Pin Valve ---I'm not choosing HPA because of the high price.

Actually the only real upgrade I have planned so far is the J&J 12" Ceramic

My budget is $360 max...I have no idea how I could cut stuff out for that $70 for a 72ci/3000psi tank...that'll be rough.

I may try to do that though, since I loath C02

Well I tried working HPA into the budget, it sets me WAY over, so forget HPA for a while.
