It really depends on personal preferance...
I'd maybe go with a 12 or 14...16 is a bit long.
I use an apex personally...10 inches of terror. Probaly more accurate than a 16, and deffinatly more range.

Eric, I shot an Apex last weekend on an A5, it was awsome. I would like to get one for my MR2, but not sure if it will fit through the shroud. Are you using an MR2 with the shroud on with your Apex?

the 16's are less accurate and they use more air when shot...my personal preference is a 14 in.

They're not less accurate, they just use more air.

Yeah dude, I use it on my MR-2 with the shroud on. The base of it is flat, so it slides right in.

I think I've posted about the Apex already. But I guess I'll do it again.

Basically, the apex is a good barrel for the MR-2, mainly because it's one of the few that actually fit through the shroud, and for scenario players (which, if you own an MR-2, you probaly are) Because of the incredible range you can get from it (300+ feet). I found the "dive bomb" effect to be usefull on several occasions to lob balls over low bunkers. It takes around 5 or 6 shots to dial it in, but once you do, you can pretty much drop balls on the opposing players head. On the other hand, The "left and right hooks" are pretty impractical and dont work very well. It's also a pretty short barrel, no more than 12 inches i think, so it doesnt get in the way, But sometimes i notice that the large twisty dealy on the end is too large so it cant fit though some smaller holes that are often encountered. One thing about this barrel is its price, i think i paid 150 bucks canadian (130 american?) for it, which kinda stinks.

So, all in all, If you have the money to spend and are looking for a good barrel that will actualyl work on your MR, The apex is a good choice

Additionally, you can attack the Apex front, to other barrels, your not supposed to, but you can do it easily.

I suggest a 12" J&J Ceramic, anything above 14" will take more air to push the ball, and anything under 10" will waste air.

Don't Get A 16" Barrel You Only Lose Accuracy And Use More Air To Push The Ball Out.

If your a US customer, last time I checked, they can be found for MUCH MUCH cheaper, the normal Apex at least I've found @ $80 at several places.

J&J works so much better than the stock. Don't get me wrong, the stock barrel is very good compared to most but upgrading to ceramic and adding 2 inches made me a lot more accurate. I got mine from Zephyr for $34. Very cheap upgrade for accuracy.

You never need anything over 14". Anything more then that needs more air to keep the ball at the correct velocity. This means you will use up air faster.

Longer barrel does NOT mean more accuracy in paintball.

I'm looking into the J&J barrel kit, would anyone reccomend?

The J&J are great barrels, however, if you can take your marker when buying a barrel to see if it will screw all the way in. I have an older J&J and it worked fine on my xtra, but didn't sit properly and left a small gap in my MR2. Factory defect? Maybe. But it may be a reason for my chopping issues. I'm switching back to stock to find out. If all goes well I will get a new j&j that fits. Then blast a way. As for length go 14-16". Long enough for accuracy short enough for close quartes, such as buildings and bush. :D

I had the same issue. Funny thing is, it had a problem on my Spyder TL-R also, so I'm guessing it was factory defect. I contacted J&J and will send it back to them soon, for replacement.

Using stock barrel DID fix my chopping problem!

I have read that if you don't seat your o-ring correctly, it will chop paint because it will not be seated correctly. I can't remember where I saw this but It wasn't recently. I would check your o-ring before you send it back. Might save you the pain of waiting for a new barrel.

My j&j is a couple of years old and I even took the o-ring off, but it still didn't fit. So a hour and half later of fileing the lip that holds the o-ring in place and now it fits purfectly. I figured I had nothing to lose if it didn't work. I would just get a new one. So I saved my self about $50 bucks. WooHoo!:D

I just tested out my Ceramic 14" today, it works great. The stock barrel is okay, but the J&J is very accurate. I don't think I chopped any balls either, if I did there was nothing there at the end of the day. Anyways it works great.
