This is my first time using macro line. How do I know how long to cut the line to have it be the perfect length?

Humm take one end and stick it into one of the fittings.... then simply measure the length you need by placing it to the other fitting and make sure you have 1/8 of an inch extra..... dont cut to close and measure twice cut once.
Use some wire cutters (dikes) to cut the macro. Polypropholine is pretty leanient on ruff edges....

wire cutters bend the macro like this <> which weakens it at the points of the arrows...use a sharp, plain (NOT SERRATED) knife blade and roll the macro on a tabletop as you cut it. Make sure the ends are square tho or it will leak at the fitting

i always find that using a sharp razor blade works the best to cut macro.
