View Full Version : New uniforms!

Well, along with the new team and new attitude, we resigned with Redz as one of our sponsors, we decided on a different color scheme than the old Catalyst colors.
Here are our new uni's for this coming up season...
Also, I mentioned before that during the hiatus from the forums, I started making headbands and sandanas... here's the headwear I'll be sporting this season!
You can see my Redz elbow pads (sponsors are so cool!) my profiler, one of the sandana's I made, my new Redz gloves, and three of the headbands I made. The dragon, blue flames (same material as mentioned sandana, and the good ol' stars and stripes. Oh, and the goofy looking Redz headband I put under the others for extra padding on the hair free areas of my head...
We've been practicing for several months now, and our first tournament that will actually happen (two have been cancelled due to lack of participation) is in January. Now, we'll be stylin' as well as winning!

Oh, I'll give a quick review of the Redz eNVy line of uniforms and gear.
First of all, the material for the jerseys is MUCH thinner than the 05 version. It's more nylon/polyester'ish, like the empire jerseys are. It'll be MUCH cooler for the summer, but pretty darn chilly in the winter. Sublimation is ok, just the dang Redz name is everywhere! We're having a hard time finding places to put everything we need to on there...
The pants are not as durable as last year's model. Thinner, more prone to ripping, although they are made of "ripstop" material...more like seams that pop. Overall impression is that Redz skimped this year on the material and such, although, like the jersey, it'll be MUCH cooler this summer. Knees aren't nearly as padded as last year, but there are more stretch panels. The addition of the extra pod holders on the side, at first, seemed like a bad idea, but I actually tried them at an indoor reball field, and they actually are very comfortable. I forgot I was actually carrying pods... I have to say I like the looks of them much better this year though.
Gloves are awesome! They're a little bit tighter, but the snugness helps with walking the trigger. I automatically cut the first two fingers out like always, but they're pretty comfy. They don't help when you get paint on the fingers though, because the rubber grippy part doesn't "grip" like previous gloves I have had - namely Empire. In my opinion, they look better than previous years as well. Short on the wrist, makes it easy to wear the arm pads and uniform without the bunching up around the wrist that happened previously.
Tank cover is a HUGE improvement. It has a rather large pad on the back and the bottom for impacts with the ground. It's the same stretchiness as before, which I prefer a zipper to, but still serviceable. The blue doesn't match the blue in the uniforms though. But that's ok.
Headband, meh. I can take or leave it. Of course, it came with the Redz folding battle swab which is one of the best there is in my opinion. Also got a gun bag (formerly known as a gun condom) which I thought I'd never use, but I kind of like it and have used it a couple of times now.
Overall impression: The clothing line this year is sort of lacking, in my opinion. Still a great line, but I feel last year's was much more durable, although this year's gear looks better. I guess I'll have to wait this summer to see how well they stand up to abuse. I give them a 7.5 out of 10.

Can you give me a shortened version of the reviews? I can't explain that much stuff to my bro; short attention span. :(

lol good luck red :p
nice threads man :) i normally don't like blue and black on clothes together unless they look nice and well blended like that

Thanks guys! I guess overall I like them.
The short version: Thinner material that doesn't seem as durable. Will be much cooler in the summer, but a freezer in the winter. Much better looking, though. Gloves are awesome. Tank covers aren't the same colors as uniforms, but they have much thicker padding than previous covers. 7.5 out of 10. :D

Gotta get in those indoor fields for the winter Vike! Then the thinness won't bother you guys. I went to an indoor today 4pm-10pm, different, and cool. And it's impossible to get traction and not slip n slide on mulch as turf. lol

Vike, thanks. I knew it musta been hard for you to do that in a paragraph :smirk:, but at least now my brother understands. Thanks!
I might pick up a pair of those pants tho, they look pretty good.

We went to an indoor a few weeks ago and played on their reball field. We're planning on going back in a few weeks again. It was great! Wish there was one closer than 3 hours away....
One thing to watch, that I noticed about the pants and the carpet indoors, and this may happen all the time, but my knees sort of "melted." Not like a candle, but sort of smushed together. I kinda got into the long slides I could get on carpet!

It does, doesn't it? I'm even thinking of turning the angel into a black and blue gun as well...stick with the theme. I thought the whole getup looked a little cheesy when I first got it, but then the whole team showed up wearing them, and danged if it didn't look dang hot...
