View Full Version : Special Edition Troubles
I have 2 Spyder Special Editions. One works fine and the other doesn't. It would discharge air once and then would have to be re-cocked. I turned the valve around and now it'll discharge air with each trigger pull. The problem now is the balls merely roll out of the barrel.
I cannot see any indication of what could be the trouble and it is the same air canister I used on both guns. Sounds like it fires but nothing.
Any ideas? Should I interchange parts from the one to see what happens?

if the ball is rolling out of the breech/barrel then your detents are bad. im not sure where you could get replacement detents though since your gun is so old
I don't think the ball just rolls out, just when trigger is pressed. seems like a pressure trouble, even though it sounds like it has enough.

ahhh i gotcha, have you checked your o-rings?
I am gonna swap the firing mechanism with the working one tonight. If it works, I will replace O rings and see.
I swapped striker bolt from my gun with his and still doing the same thing.

have you tried turning your velocity up?
I took the spring out of the other one and cranked it all they way. Nothing. UGH!

Spyders are some of the simplest paintball markers. basically it sounds like a valve/velocity problem. the marker either isnt getting enough air the striker doesnt have enough force behind it so open the valve completely.
the internals should be identical in both markers. if you were to switch ALL internals it should work. if it didnt there is something wrong with the body/air line. are you sure youre putting it together correctly? check all the o-rings and make sure they are not worn or cracked. with this marker is it possible to put the bolt in upside down?
Not possible to put the bolt in upside down. I am about to work on it later. Gonna go through it all again. It is a really simple gun, this is what boggles my mind.

is it recocking after it fires? also does this marker have any kind of regulator or is it just a gas through/stainless steel line from the asa to the marker?
