I am a beginner and have only been paintballing a few times, but I'm extremely fascinated by it and love going. I have decided to invest in my gun, so and i narrowed it down to 2 choices,

1) 09 Spyder Pilot w/ Eyes $164
2) Spyder MR1 Sniper Set $135

Whixh one would be better for someone like me?

Thanks,
Eriizzle

There both really good guns to start with but what do you enjoy playing more woodsball or speedball or both equally?

which do you like speed or something more simple?

Well I;m of fan of playing speedball, and my local paintball field consists of only woods, so its gunna get dirty.

dirt doesnt really matter for a marker as long as you keep dirt out of the breech. the eyes will avoid chops but you should definately invest in an electric loader

So, to my understanding, the guns are equally good to start off with?

pilot = electronic with eyes
MR1 = mechanical with no eyes
(eyes prevent chopping) the MR1 is slower but the internals are practically the same

^Yeah that. I would get a Pilot but be sure to invest in an electric hopper. You can find used Halos on PbNation.com for under $50.

uhm, this may sound a little " newbish ", but does the electric hopper like fill up the hopper for you?

No an electric hopper is a batter powered hopper. It feeds paint into the chamber alot faster then a gravity and prevents chopping.

Thank you for all the help guys! I've made my decision and im getting the pilot. I've heard that you need a certain type of high quality paintball for it. Is this true?

paint is universal but if you use really crappy paint you will get inaccurate shots and the paint can be too brittle or really thick and it wont bust when you shoot someone. basically with paintballs you get what you pay for. you dont necessarily have to go out and buy the most expensive paintballs out there though

nah, find a good used Halo or Reloader B. That'll take care of you with this gun and any gun after it. I love my Empire Reloader B.

^ Yup, get either of those hoppers. That way when you do upgrade guns you wont have to upgrade hoppers too. Plus you can find a used Halo or Reloader B for fairly cheap.
