Well since I decided the empire 2 frame was going to be way to much work for what it was worth I sold it and bought a NIB DM5 UL frame off ebay.

Package that arrived today:

First Line up to see how it was going to fit:

Compared to stock, its alot different:

Viking uses a bigger 10-32 screw to mount the frame so it wouldn't fit the stock mount:

After alot of filing:

Next problem, channel for allen key was to small to fit a 1/8" wrench so I had to drill it out:

After drilling the rear hole there was a problem with the screw not sitting level b/c of the slope in the frame so I had to flaten that area out:

Dremeled that was later clean up with sandpaper:

My favorite thing to do, hack up brand new parts with permanent mods :P:

Next I decided to do something about the milled in slots that use to hold the dye logo:

Filed it all down and shaped it out to flow without having a hard line anywhere, then went crazy and smoothed out the middle and the front. Ended up with this:

Finished and mounted:

All I got left is to make a tray to hold the microswitch since I am going to use the viking tadao board still, should have it finished up by tomorrow.

Dye and bob long make the best frames IMO. Turned out to be alot more work for the empire 2 frame then I originally thought so I went to my next favorite.

^ Yeah that!

Looks amazing. I really like how you cut the back off to make it even with the frame. I bet that shoots really smooth.

As of now its either going to be dark gunmetal or shades of grey taken from eclipse DC2.

I would say you need a hobby but that obviously isn't true. How about a girlfriend? haha.

Looks pretty awesome though.
